they could just give us our domestic option clearly they are looking at multi vic units they could easily just give us Sky Sabre which is 20-22km from what I know for the basic missile

I’d love for it to be F-2, but with the last one already having been single aircraft themed maybe I think it needs to be something else alongside it.
I hope it’s J-10B, so we can get two relatively underrepresented nations as a focus, especially those that are currently missing top tier, but I could also see F-2 being one of multiple ASM aircraft, with ASMs being the main focus and something like the Super Hornet also getting a role.
But mainly I just hope F-2 isn’t sidelined, it’s time for a teaser with Japan in a lead role now, since such a chance probably won’t come again after this.

What im getting at is its a poor excuse for new SPAA especially if you put them at 12.0, its a blatant fail at any semblance of balance when most 9.x CAS can easily defeat them.

tbf the IRIST is gonna be FnF and will most likely be near unavoidable in 10km (which is the ADATS max range) mean you will probably get a decent few kills on people that get stupid and fly into range
I wonder… what is the reach on ground launched IRIS-T even? In this system, the missile should be same as the air launched one.

10km is stretching it lol, if they fly in a straight line and aren’t paying attention yes, if they are actively causing the missile to bleed energy no, it will have about 5-6km of range because it will bleed speed. Again until its added im of the opinion its a nice addition but added too late for the current range of CAS even more so given i again can abuse any AGM65 or KH38MT to nuke anyone dumb enough to play the Eldenhet. Just like the Type 81C players, they can’t fight back.
Its just poor balancing imo and it sucks to see gaijin doesn’t seem to care, but i will say they are very unique picks and id love to see more even if they are essentially useless if a single CAS pilot uses at least 1 braincell.
not really ground launched AAMs will always have a shorter range as it doesn’t already have altitude or velocity to help it

Type 81 already farms planes like the Su-25s and A-10s that think they are the main characters so much, it’s just funny.
Shorter than air, it has to catch a target without any initial speed, given other similar missiles losing about 1-2km range on agile targets the IRIS-T will be no different.

No, like, that is exactly what I am saying. The missile is unmodified, same as the air launched one, and is lacking the momentum of being fired from an aircraft. So, what is the reach on this?
