Part of the upgrades between the F3D-1 and F3D-2 was fitting more powerful engines which would increase the F3Ds top speed to up to 910km/h. That puts it a lot closer to the 8.0 planes.
It has 4 guns and up to 4 Sparrow Is, which may not be great, but neither are the Fireflashes.
I can’t see a potential F3D-2M being lower than 8.3 considering what kind of armament and speed the average 8.0 plane gets

They should bring back the radar gunsights for planes that have rangefinding radars.

Half of those 8.0s shouldn’t even be at 8.0. And the other half of 8.0s and even 7.7s would fly circles around the F3D, because they’re Sabres and MiG-15s.
The Swift F.7 shouldn’t be at 8.7 either, that’s ridiculous. There’s no plausible reason to put a fat tub like the F3D above 8.0 unless you’re just being malicious. No, being theoretically capable of reaching 500 knots doesn’t justify putting it at the same battle rating as the A-4 Skyhawk. Which is better than the F3D in every conceivable way.
8.0 is the highest it should go, no matter what. Any higher is just adding a plane that’s beyond DoA for the sake of punishing anyone who was excited for it.
