Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Hornet.
I think I spelt that right, the PC doesn’t even think it’s a spelling error lol.
wym, there’s a cooldown on names now?
EF-24 drawings?
something of the sorts
Well they usually wait a bit to make a “II” of something
Look at F-15EX Eagle II, first flight 2022 iirc, 50 years after F-15 Eagle first flight
Dunno, they didn’t wait long with the Harrier II
Yeah but super hornet 2 sound wrong. I mean the super hornet itself is already like the hornet II.
Also it would cause confusion since Super Hornet and Super Hornet 2 would be in service at the same time
Lol, the Mary Poppins plane.
Harrier II was an evolution of the og Harrier rather than a whole new plane the makers wanted to promote as a “spiritual successor”.
The original Harriers were still in service when the Harrier II arrived, weren’t they?
Why didn’t they call it “Super Harrier” then, huh?
Did they even call them harrier 2? Werent they just Gr 5 onwards?
Because they didn’t have to trick congress
Probably the same reason they didn’t call it “The Cooler Harrier”, “Harrier Evolution”, “Totally not the original Harrier” or “Firefly”. They chose a name and went with it.
Pretty sure they called the YAV-8B a Harrier II already
Well, what’s wrong with calling the F/A-XX Super Hornet II then?
Cause it’s going to be a Northrop grumman aircraft.
“Super” and “II” don’t really work that well together imo. Sounds like they are doing too much.
Hellcat II is much more fitting since it is after WW2 legend and a Grumman plane.
Is that set in stone?
