Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

that be fine i just want tirpitz as a tech tree cause it gets extra AA and torpedo protection

so for the time being, i will consider it a conventional engine due to official images from the engine manufacturer

yes because exstremely thick armor it tanked most bombs which they SHOULD NOT add the bomb desinged to be used on tirpitz as it took 4 different lancasters crashing for one to finally take off as the bomb was so big

NGAD requirements:

The NGAD will have high-speed propulsion, with the potential to integrate hypersonic capabilities. The NGAD will use adaptive cycle engines, with General Electric and Pratt & Whitney competing to develop the propulsion system.

Bismarck got her own Sabaton song though soo

thats for NGAD, not GCAP or tempest

To be fair they placed smoke screen generators all around it.

No one ever got a clear crack at her.

shame they scraped her for metal after the war

I’m not saying it’s impossible, but there is also no definitive proof. If other nations can lie about their development, why would the US be different?

Not long ago China was catching up to Russia, now they make both better versions of Russian planes and their own domestic stealth fighters. Not really surprising they’re catching up here.

Wouldn’t be the first time a nation caught up to the US at rates like this, only the first time bribery can’t stop it.

Images prove more than some random quote. People make a lot more mistakes than cameras. As it stands there is more definitive proof for a Chinese flying 6th gen (two even) than there is of NGAD, and that won’t change unless there is official documents or images to back this claim.

Didn’t specifications change a lot since then? That’s like calling Mitsubishi X-2 a flying GCAP demonstrator because it was built for F-X, and GCAP is F-X.

Yes exactly considering the US defined Gen 5 airframes. I would surmise this is defining statement of Gen 6

ok? doesnt mean other countries can or will acheive this, this is independent USAF requirements

You miss what i am saying
Gen 5 is defined by stealth and supercruise because the US outlined them as requirements for Gen 5.

China makes a Gen 6 but it isnt hypersonic, but the US version is it wont be considered a true Gen 6

it doesnt mean other country will necessarily acheive the goals US set for its own 6th gen

If you have credible proofs that an actual USAF official is lying, I would suggest exposing him in an actual news outlet, not on the War Thunder Forums. For now all we can do is take what he said.

Doesn’t change the fact that they aren’t, because the US flew a 6th Gen fighter before China, 4 years before at that, they lead for now. Also catching up to Russia isn’t hard at all, they’re not very advanced.

For the average person they do, but apart from wondering if he is lying, we can only take what he said. I’m sure the Chinese are lying on this supposed 6th Gen fighter and that it’s only full of outdated avionics, but that’s a personal opinion, and I don’t have any proof to back it up, just like you don’t have any proofs to back up the fact you think a USAF official is lying.

We have an official statement on the matter, the NGAD flew, we know it. Why would the USAF release sensitive flight data on their most advanced fighter, with which they have a significant lead on other countries?

Then it wont be a Gen 6

i mean b21 is considered 6th gen aircraft, but we both know damn well it isnt going anywhere near the speeds outlined for NGAD

Is it really? I wasnt aware

The generations only really apply to fighter aircraft, calling the B-21 6th gen was just marketing really, and there is technically no hard rule on what a generation is

Europe and China seems to be ahead of US in 6th gen jet development. Production of Tempest has already started if I’m not mistaken.

not even close to production, idk where u got that from
