Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

No, but the Brimstone 3 upgraded replaced the IOG on it , which in game should translate to a 0 IOG drift. Which would give it psuedo GPS guidance. with no mmW still. This would be a reasonable compromise and make them into something like the GBU-39s

B3A enhancements include a new microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based tactical inertial measurement unit (IMU) developed by Atlantic Inertial Systems (AIS) and a new enhanced autopilot for improved precision at extended ranges. B3B, awarded in 2020, incorporates a range of improvements, including a 20% increase in range. An improved battery also provides an additional 30% engagement duration. - Source

I think 0 drift is too far, no IOG can do that, but it’s resonable to reduce some

Any bomb IOG can. KH-38s and AASM will track a target through smoke using IOG and hit perfectly.

Why is the Brimstone being able to hit a stationary target OP, especially as it should have mmW that isnt modeled at all and the tiny warhead would mean little splash damage kill potential

No IOG drift would be nice, at least then it would have limited use in air battles, though as always air RB needs a significant rework to make CAS a useful part of it

Yeah, main reason why I want them. at the moment, 0 value to ever taking Brimstone 1s on the Typhoon in Sim. Brimstone 2s might be of more use, but the lack of FnF really limits what you can do with them. Making them Psuedo-GPS guided would help a lot

not really, AASM has GPS, and KH-38 is just fast and has many explosive, so it will hit before drift too far. if smoke earlier, KH38 will also not hit I believe

I’ve popped smoke and started moving as fast as I could the moment I saw a KH-38 fired. Still killed me.

that’s because you are still in missile’s fov, you get out the smoke and the seeker catched you again

Have y’all seen the new battle pass vehicle

That would be LOAL which it shouldn’t have as far as game implementation, it’s one of the specific reasons given as to why the Brimstone is laser guided only

not loal, it’s similar to the problem when you fire a fnf to someon close to a dead vehicle.
both of you are in fov, and when the missile get closer, the missile will have chance to go to the dead one not the live one.
or, fire a fnf in long range with point mode, when it gets to close enough to get track, and someone is in its fov, it will track the guy
the reason why LOAL is denied, one is things like KH-59, controlled by data link, another is like Brimestone, you can’t controll what radar seeker’s huge fov will lock, and cause some friendly damage

My hammers keep flying straight into space, even tho they have both IOG and GNSS

On a side note, I kind of realized that neither Italy nor France leased the M47, hence why they could conduct upgrades freely on them. The M46 however, was leased to both nations, and as such will probably be my guess for the mystery tank.

The French M46 seems to be more prominent and already has a suggestion, so in conjunction with the BP name potentially referencing the French Foreign Legion, it seems a bit more likely than the Italian one.

Edit: A kind stranger on Reddit reminded me that a Belgian M46 could also go to France, not any different from the French one but still worth a mention.

Ewwwww, get that decal away from me

Oh no you poked the “mUh WrAppppToR nUmBa OnE” crowd. I try to tell them this but I always start crying about something.

It would make sense for the Belgium one for the BP and the France one for the tree.
Plus would make sense if they added the French one and the Italian one for the next update

Belgian M46A1

Belgian M26A1

And a Belgian M47 too (but modified with a LRF and with APFSDS rounds in-service)

Belgian M47 “Antwerpen”

M47 antwerpen

But I would agree that a French one would be far more fitting.

I guess the Belgian one does fit better as a BP reward, but that doesn’t mean I want it or any of the other M46s to be added.

Both Italy and France have plenty of other domestic modifications to go around, I don’t really see why we need to remove the identity of the U.S. M46 by giving it to two more nations.

Well stop exporting it then lol
