Worst case with MLU 2 is we just get JDAMs, but hopefully we get everything the US does, not that I’m all that hopeful
The suggestion for the F/A-18 does say that the US tested BOL in the late 90s however there isn’t a source I can see for it, just that claim
If it only gets JDAMS its worthless then. The Gripen A and C will still be better options, hell even the AJS37 will be a better option.
You know, I would say the AAM-4B might be too much, but given that AESA is just PD radar still with better TWS track? I think it’ll probably be fine too. That being said, it would just be nerfed so it could wait till after they unnerf the AAM-4 as is currently.
I hope March at the latest because it’s really overdue. Like the F-2 will not be better than the EFT just like the F-18C won’t be (however, the US has the F-22 which I suspect we’ll see December 2025).
It’ll be better F-16 which translates to something a little better than the Gripen (in theory anyway, upto Gaijin after all), trading some sustained turn rate for better low speed performance and better AoA (which is pretty competitive in its own right) however it might not even get HMD. The only thing holding it back was “AESA too stronk” and now that the Rafale is here, that’s not a factor.
To be fair, I would not be surprised the F-22 getting added before stealth mechanics are refined, just like the F-117 and as you pointed out, sensor fusion of modern fighter aircraft. Aircraft sells updates, the tech behind it unfortunately does not.
Thats what i believe is the main reason gaijin would use to add BOL. I dont believe they actually use them but rather tested BOL. Its more likely they have their own pod or just didn’t see the reason to add it.
Yup, really it needs mavericks and LGBs at the very least to be worthwhile, otherwise I think I’d rather just get MLU 1 for now, make it as good as possible at A2A with the striped down weight
I wouldn’t trust gaijin with weight, all finnish T34s have the add on armor weight from the soviet models but cant get rid of the weight. They should weigh less than the soviet models and yes i bug reported it months ago
120CMs standard is pretty much plenty IRL so you can see why, but 60 pops in War Thunder isn’t great, I don’t feel comfortable without 70 or so at least
Eh, i dont really care, BOL is worthless imo, i don’t notice the difference when i use a Su-27 vs the gripen or F14B or tornado
almost all supers use the 79 to my knowledge, they stopped using 73 in the early 2000s
most legacy operators outside of the US still do use the 73 though
Only Malaysia actually has 79 on legacy, CF-18 set to have them but doesn’t even exist yet
I am fairly certain those are referring to the LUU-2 dispenser.
Looking more closely at other sources, probably.
The AN/ALE-37A countermeasures chaff dispensing set is externally mounted on aircraft MER/TER ejector racks that have 14-inch suspensions.
And the “interface matrix” in the following source cross references the MJU-27, F/A-18 and ALE-37A, and only makes mention of the LAU-138 (BOL-IR) in reference to the F-14, though it may have been done at a later date.
The F/A-18 is listed over there because of the ALE-47 not the ALE-37A. The chart you are referencing is only showing what systems are compatible with said countermeasure not what aircraft can use what dispenser.
Greetings R&R. What do you guys think, battle pass vehicle today?
thats great in ground battles, just learn how to use it,
Nah in gaijin passion it will be on friday just to tease us before waiting two more days for the next one
is this real?
edit: its fake. Found the original source of this picture https://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=1141032
Definitely a fake for sure. Literally a model kit I have in my stash :)
I guess someone tried at least.
