i wish they would add the Mig25. its long over due and to the people that say “Oh it would just be a missle bus and nothing else” have you played top tier? UNLESS you are a missle buss you cant compete so it would be perfect
It wouldn’t be a top tier jet but it would be pretty interesting jet to have like 12.0ish, would be a pain in the arse to balance though, kinda like the F-104A

I mean i also dont know if the Mig25 has some special missles so 12.0 would seam reasonable. definitly higher than the mig23 tho
MiG-23 can dogfight which is still important at the BR, the MiG-25 has the R-40 which is sort of in the same ballpark as the Sadjeel on the F-14 IRAIF, though IDK about how many Gs it can pull.
You have the option between MiG-25P or PD as well as between the R-60 and R-60M for fine tuning balance so exactly where they could put it is a bit of a mystery

mig-25 had versions of R-40 missiles, one of its upgrades had R-60 too
i dont know how powerful is R-40 but mig-25 is something like theb est f-104 in the game

iraqi mig-25s had many kill records against iranian f-4s and f-5s
On 17 January 1987 an iraqi mig-25 killed an f-14 with R-40
this is Mohammed Rayyan most successful iraqi mig-25 pilot, an iranian f-14 finally killed him

Yeah, there is the R-40T as well which complicates things more with an IR seeker, as well as the RD and TD which are improved versions, I have no idea what the seeker is like, though one was used to shoot down a US F/A-18 during the Gulf War so they can’t be terrible
The TD may even have an IRCCM seeker though like I said, I’m not entirely sure on the matter

Yeah, Mach 3 damaged the aircraft, Gaijin may not implement it, or they may have it cook the engines so quick that it’s not a good idea to do

It’s not likely to achieve those speeds unless you’re already going Mach 3, and those ranges will be at very high altitude, this won’t be anywhere near as good as something like the R-27ER

Gaijin assumes you get a brand new engine/aircraft each time you spawn or repair on the airfield anyways
We already have this with MiG-21Bis’ super afterburner
And even in terms of realism, it’s better to overstress and scrap the engine than to get shot down and lose both the aircraft and the engine …
