You just need to keep a pet Tor with you for weapons intercept, it’s very good at it
Won’t matter when a strike eagle can carry 28 GBU-53 lol, and an F-15EX can probably carry 36
or IRST, I cant recall. But likely they’ll have to add some way to have external radars.
Otherwise no nations are getting anything
Yes, or even Pantsir, or anything, but you should understand that most players are… uh… oh…
not capable of intercepting more than two targets going from two different angles on Pantsir
Thus, there’s a dilemma for them, or they add something good that become very good in right hands, or give something that’s very good without need of it, as you probably seen, there are huge pit between player efficiency on Pantsir, because when good player placed in it, it will be hard time for a pilot
But you mostly face not so smart ones that will die to pretty much anything
I hope they decide to go for the way of vehicle that will require some skill capacity
IDK about Pantsir but the Tor is meant to be able to intercept 4 weapons at the same time and track up to 40, the issue is that Gaijin won’t model that properly
I think a good way of doing that is with the ammo crate system; You drive the launch vehicle to a spot, place down your radar nearby and shoot from there, if you’re attacked and need to move just drive off, you won’t be able to fight back but can replenish your radar from an ammo crate or capture point and set up again somewhere else
Are you about Tor-M2? Yeah, it will be better in intercepting things, but it will be worse against planes, mainly because of range, I don’t think people will communicate to make them efficient and nice duo, they’re simply not capable of it, most of them
Mayber. I feel though that if moving to evade say, a KH-38 fired at you, disables you until you can drive a literal truck to a cap point, you might as just not bother adding it in the first place.
I think they will add emplacement as we have ammo crates right now
Simple to make into the game. Elegant. Yet there will be hoards of people crying, because they can’t push 2 buttons to place it into the ground
I mean that’s the tradeoff of using a static SAM system, there isn’t really a way around it, best case is you can stay put and shoot or move and be defenceless
If they add rewards for shooting down enemy munitions that may help
All this talk of SPAA, but still no buddy lasing implemented for other jets, drones (if they can), and ground vehicles
Also I think they should let you “lock onto” that last recorded position of vehicles that have been scouted through the aircraft ground map thing, instead of fiddling with it just having it snap to them
Taller mast is the missile control antenna, all camm platforms (i.e. the Italian and Polish ones as well) have this. The shorter mast (folded in Morvan’s picture) is a EO sight for self designation, so far only the British ones have it, but the mounting points for it exist on the Italian and Polish ones too, so gaijin could fudge it a little if there’s a need.
Because it is what will come into the game, and I think it’s interesting to talk about it, Gaijin won’t add buddy-lasing, as it is not really honest way of fighting from their perspective
Me in something with paveways, my friend in a tank or scout drone, very fun and rewarding gameplay that encourage teamwork
Should also get assist if you lased the weapon onto target
Pantsir can engage 4 targets simultaneously aswell.
Personally, I would use it, and won’t be sad to be killed of it, as I can release smokes and just take a cover, but I don’t think there’s a point of talking about it as something that could get into the game, as Gaijin will never add it
Tbh with addition of target point map feature, I think it’s more than possible
It has potential to make squads rather OP.imagine lasing a target with a scout drone or IFV, or even just something orbiting at 55k ft lasing a target and then something else lofting or firing laser guided weapons well beyond LoS.
If it was anyone and not Squads, then imagine the TK trolling.
Its a cool mechanic, but I think one just not well suited for War Thunder at this time. I think maybe the closest we could get is having drone scouts create CCRP target points that you can then lock onto. Maybe also enable Tpods to create target points as well.
But… I would love to see continued refinement of GPS guided weapons, like the ability to set multiple targets before release and to have CCRP control the release, enabling long ranged loft attacks against multiple targets
Pantsir can do 4 missiles but only 3 targets simultaneously
