Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

IMO soviet stuff with western tech should be more reserved for EE or visegrad, where it would be the major selling point. Moderna, wilk, twardy, as well as BVP etc. There are even Ukranian osa with R-73s which would be interestings.

That is an issue of the matchmaker not the specific BR of the aircraft, giving it P4s would only raise its BR, putting it much more consistently against Eurofighters and better, even when the BRs do change that won’t. Whereas at its current BR once they do some decompression you won’t ever see a Eurofighter again with the C.10

Ima be real, i prefer the block 10 for air rb because the fm is so much more cracked. it should be 12.7 too.

Roland systems are suffering like crazy rn and they dont have their irl guidance method.

As this would matter in 2025…

I wonder if we will ever get ACLOS on other systems than S1/Tor/HQ

I don’t get why the Tor and Pantsir got this functionality to begin with.
Does Gaijin think this functionality would be too strong on other vehicles or that the Pantsir and Tor would be too weak without ACLOS?

its straight up unfair.

Roland systems all had automatic missile guidance. how can you manually guide a missile by looking at a radar screen anyway lmao?

the IR/optical method was the backup

Roland sams definitely need buff.

I mean, I am sure the Starstreak would be extremely unreliable if it had to be guided almost completely manually like in-game, but it seems that we don’t deserve guiding assistance in-game

yes this is how the game works, shocker

Bad BR/Matchmaker → vehicle performs bad

crazy how that works

Not quite. IR was the original one Radar was added later, the whole existence of Roland 2 (missile) was to add transponder, in order for radar tracking to work… And optical tracking was still used during good weather or in heavy ECM situations.

if u mean roland 1 system
yes
but for all others, radar was the main method. it was radio command guided

It was always command guided.

i meant to say that the command guidance was automatically calculated by a computer

Always was. Only difference is the meduim. IR missile localizer + search radar, or Tracking radar (+ search radar)

btw, Roland 1/2 systems only have generation 1 IRT which doesnt give any ranging information. is this correct?
otherwise how would a computer calculate optimal interception course based only on a single vector and a relative direction

They only have a IR flare localizer, that does not provide any video feed, only calculates spread and intensity of IR flares (2 of them at the back of the missile) to calculate the distance of the missile.

what about range to target?

Search radar. Probably some optic feed too, but mainly search radar.
