Yeah, War Thunder is the accessible sim vs DCS as the hard-core high fidelity sim.
But they could make SB into one hell of a gamemode with dynamic objectives, more objectives, more maps, time/weather combos, hell even larger maps.
combine with proper distribution of mechanics like ASMs. Add ARM and other niche weapon types with corrosponding objectives and then just improve on the quality of systems we already have like CCRP and it would be an incredible gamemode.
Then just add an RB version for those not wanting cockpit/full controls.
Yeah, its little things like that. They could easily add a flight of bombers at 40k ft. Would be stupidly easy addition. Kinda the main reason I want to see B-52, Vulcan, etc added. then the models could be used for that kind of thing.
There are SOOOOOO many small changes they could make to the gamemode.
This baby is one I’ve been secretly waiting for, and not mentioning, because I think it’s probably better than the Armata, and with that 30mm coax, and ultra-trollish front end, too OP for the game. If there’s anything that can give the true end-game USSR experience any hope at all, it’s this thing. It won’t be perfect, all hull pens are likely instant kills due to crewless turret, but it doesn’t matter. This thing was the tank the Russian Federation deserved, and it’s a damn shame it’s not in production now.
The ground radar would also be very interesting, as it would be able to track tanks even through smoke, so the only way to hide would be putting hard cover between you and it
Khrizantema has the same feature, it works, but unfortunately there’s still no good way to target both ground and helicopter radars manually, just as air radar works (albeit quite clunky as well).
Also very thicc hull armor, that removes the drivers weak spot, and probably increased protection for lower plate.
Remains one of the best ways to upgrade to give Russia a good reverse gear besides the T-84 series and the sketchy T-80BVM(2023) claimed speed of -25km/h
Well at best I think it would only work as a targeting radar, with no ability to search. It’s the weird box on top of the turret to the right side of the Giant CITV
Besides the weird mention in the 292 blog, it’s also been passed to devs, so I think there is a real possibility it’s already being looked at as a future MBT
Would be great at or near the T-90M, the 3rd or 4th hull had GTD-1250’s, and the T-80 transmission which is a massive improvement over the T-90A. Plus the 2A66 armed with 3BM39 should do quite well. I don’t know it’s performance, but the 187 had a custom autoloader to allow for longer pieces, and thus longer rods than available at the time (3BM42). Not to mention it had a tough breach-block that allowed for higher pressure ammunition.
Only thing it didn’t have was a good looking muzzle break, lmao.
