Ngl, I also play a lot of China, and am slowly grinding the US. IRIS-T is the best SPAA in the game, hands down, and it’s basically broken.
Just nice to have a point and click again, haven’t had that since the Strela.
IRIS-T will be overshadowed by BUK M3 since it has since insane range, I thought Aster 30 would be the king of SPAA but gaijin believes otherwise
Range isnt always everything. Where the Buk has a range advantage. It will come with the downside of being defeatable like any ARH, turn 90 and chaff or Multipath. Also you will get a blaring warning when is fired at you on your RWR. You dont with an IRIS-T
I don’t believe so, it may be similar to Finnish hornets both times on release where it said they had the worst engines even though they didn’t so id wait until official confirmation on that.
After playing the Buk-M3 for a bit, I do consider the IRIS-T SLM as the better one - However, the SAMP/T seems to be the true king, especially at short range, where the Buk just can’t to well.
I don’t know whether its intended or not, but the Buk is currently not even able to intercept any munitions and the current search Radar is very limiting (out of all top tier SAMs, this one probly is the worst).
Gotta be specific with your IRIS-T cause one is great and the other cant move. Has the least amount of missiles. Smallest range, and no Datalink lol
The ability to force someone defensive before spawning in is still obnoxious, we’ll see though since I’m not blown away by it’s ARH seeker, seems easy to notch and multipath
its also the oldest system so thats hardly surprising
Sky Sabre has this same issue. So might be an issue affecting most of them
IRIS-T is also still unreliable in intercepting munitions afaik
All I know is in an uptier, I will takeoff from an airfield in bad weather, and get shot down within 45 seconds, from 20km away… that’s the IRIS-T I’ve been fighting.

As for the integration thing, one of the articles I read about Brimstone on the Apache said they needed platform (M299 launcher/Apache) modifications as well as software ones
