The FA2 shouldn’t be only 11.7, since that’s where the second gen Harriers are, which don’t have AMRAAMs.
The F/A-18 is an American jet.
Honestly i think 11.7 would be a good place for things like TornadoF3 AOP, SHAR.FA2, F4F ICE and other similar flight performance FOX-3 slingers considering the F-14 is 11.7 with much greater performance and now as seen in datamines, AIM-54s are being made a fair bit more manouverable.
The F-14A’s missiles are significantly underperforming, so it doesn’t have nearly the flight performance advantage it used to, and this problem would be even larger come early ARH missile carriers.
The Harrier Gr3 with 2x 9Gs is 9.3
The sea Harrier FRS1e with 2x 9Ls is 10.3
The Sea Harrier FRS1 with 4x 9Ls is 10.7
The Sea Harrier FA2 is the same aircraft as those with the only notable FM upgrade being the engine from the Gr7.
Based ONLY on the FM. And the limited A2A payload (4-6 AAMs). 11.7 would fit the pattern.
But again. As I said. I’m expecting more like 12.3 for the FA2 due only because of the ARH
Exactly, it is an American jet. Why would the US get a Swiss one when the US built and operates… well just about every variant. Even for an event vehicle it seems a US testbed F-18, or even an Aussie one since at least that country is already present in the US tree, would be more likely.
Reread what I said. I didn’t say that the Swiss F/A-18 will go to America.
Also, a single vehicle from a nation does not mean that all vehicles from said nation will go to it (DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS OUT OF CONTEXT. I MEAN WHAT I SAID AND NOTHING BUT WHAT I SAID. IF I DID NOT EXPLICITLY MENTION SOMETHING, THAT MEANS THAT I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT).
from what i can understand isnt this a massive increase in manouverability? (this is datamined btw so its not live yet)
could be the aim120s
it states AIM-54 on all of the files mentioned. Specifically AIM-54A, AIM-54B and AIM-54C
why are you so damn fixated on not being wrong my guy noone is gonna crucify you for speculating something is gonna come, just because you think of something as “it will happen” instead of a speculation doesn’t mean others will too
they usually copy the things over for testing, aka copying the missile over and just changing the stats
I’m not. I’m just sick of people taking things I say out of context and making it out like I said something that I didn’t.
If you are referring to the first thing, I was responding to a question. That is all.
Correct. You said it had a place in the American tree. I don’t need your snarky reread what I said nonsense. I was just asking why you thought it had a place in the US tree when it seems Germany to be the more likely candidate.
What nation is the more likely candidate is wholly and completely irrelevant. I was not talking about where it will go, but rather where it can go.
Also, I implore you to not make assumptions. The easiest way to clear up that misunderstand was to direct you back to the original comment. That is all.
Guys a little back and forth is what public forums are for but let’s not argue too hard over 100% speculation.
We just got one, it’s a minor nation, so don’t expect one for quite a while.
To what? The US?
We already know that a dutch F-16 isn’t in the plans for the German tree.
