I’m not expecting you to tell me anything, I’m just confused
Aight ty guys thought I missed something
u gotta read up on it then, i cant help you more then tell u its a fact
and i am fairly certain stingers werent a ww2 things xD
Another way to buff URSS CAS is giving the Mi-28NM access to 4 LMUR 305.
Blowpipe was a British MANPAD serving from 1975 to 1985 that didnt have a prox fuse. I think this was a combination of cost saving and to reduce the number of parts within the missile.
Pretty sure they are listed in one of the books about soviet/russian air to ground missiles.
NVM, my bad, didnt see you were given answer with that exact book.
I think it’s gonna be a bit before we see those unfortunately
Yeah someone already listed it
Why? We already have F&F in-game, i don’t see how 4 of those could be broken without NLOS capabilities.
Blowpipe did have a proxy fuse though I thought? It didnt have SACLOS controls to save costs (turned out the missile cost way more lol), it was MCLOS controlled.
Like you could select contact fuse, but did have proxy still afaik.
99% sure it didnt. That is the main upgrade for Javelin
14.5km range alone is problematic, problem is in think not enough known about its limitation range without the nlos feature. The seeker just isnt well known enough
The main upgrade to Javelin was conversion to a SACLOS missile system, the starburst was Laser beam riding iirc. (also some minor warhead improvements though still a chunky missile)
TV/IR seekers in-game don’t work past ~8km, the range argument was presented when Russia got the Kh-29TE with “30 km” range.
With a maximum speed of 230m/s and launched from ground level (300-500m), i really doubt someone could abuse the full range on a helicopter.
thats not the case, mavericks and pgms can be shot from further away, kh-29te as well, rpoblem is if bushes etc get in between then the missles self detonates, but thats not a problem of the missle
stil less cancer than f-16c blok 50 as toptier cas jet in grb as its still a SLOW subsonic strike aircraft where dircm will do nothing against radar spaa
cancer for ARB, they are hell annoying, but good thing is its br gonna be so high it wont matter
missiles with DIRCCM would be able to not get decoyed, so I’d check to see any of these have it.
The problem lies in the difference between track and point mode. You can fire any TV guided AGM in point mode so long as it’s within the theoretical lock range, but most TV guided weapons won’t start tracking until somewhere under 10km(assuming perfect weather)
My understanding is that the best TV seeker on fixed wing planes is the AGM-65D, but even that struggles to actually track something past 10km
