You said there were entirely indigenous Singaporean AFV with seemingly no foreign connections when that is clearly not the case
I mean Canada & Australia have lots domestic stuff as well. At worst, it is usually licensed built (EG. a local variant aka not C&P). Direct importers without trying to get some way to make it “theirs” is often the minority. And that usually happen in times of conflict when stuff like local production is having an issue, or mass standardization across all nations on the front happens.
Stuff like the Canadian LAV family (which is also the primary LAV family nowadays) or all the known WW2 stuff like the Ram and AC medium tanks, a long with a much of lesser known stuff.
With your own logic then, that means the K1 MBTs would be connected to the Americans because it uses a lot of design influence from the prototype Abrams.
That’s fair, I’m not really disputing that Australia and Canada should be well represented but that ship sailed a long time ago.
Now it’s more so how to prevent new additions from going through the same fate, especially when you see Malaysia and Indonesia with almost zero relations with Japan being added there as sub trees, so how is it Singapore with much deeper ties with Israel is the one getting left out?
Yet giving up on them is the same as saying you are fine with it happing to all nations.
Even more so when nations that where split or otherwise did eventually get a home.
Sweden, Israel and I think even even Finland I believe. Oh technically South Africa too but that felt more like a play to keep the Class 3 out of the UK tree.
How can I support your goal, if I have to give up on my nation?
I haven’t given up on your nation, Gaijin has. You could of course still go ahead and make a thread without even mentioning Singapore if your idea is to fix the current existing vehicles placement, but knowing Gaijin, they’d argue that it’s not possible to do so since the vehicles already exist in X nation (which is a big fat lie given Israel was separated until they became a main tree).
So while the ship has sailed for Australia, Canada, Spain, Poland etc, that doesn’t mean you can’t rally up against it and call for change, I’m just doing my part for my own country. I’m fine if people don’t support me, I’ve already made myself clear on my stand regarding whether I’ll continue playing this game or not depending on how the devs decide to implement our things.
I guess I need to show that all nations that are homeless have the support they need for change, and it’s not dropped at the drop of a hat. The only ship that sailed in the situation is defeat and acceptance that it’ll happen to all nations.
Day 1 for requesting that all homeless nations get a home, so they can use their stuff and no nation is forced to buy their stuff at a total of $200+, only to never be able to use it together.
I LOVE BUYING 10 DIFFERENT PREMIUMS ACROSS ALL THE TREES JUST TO PLAY MY NATION’S VEHICLE RAAAAAAAAAAH!
/s
I’ll say my two coins in this purely due to how I feel about it, if a Singapore vehicle hasn’t got a connection via a nation unlike the Hunter imho it should be placed in Britain due to Singapore being in the Commonwealth and now gaijin has a place for said commonwealth in the second ground line of Britain as that is now classed as a export/commonwealth line. I’m not saying all vehicles should go their before anyone cuts my throat but defo ones that hasn’t got a connection to anyone, If they do have a connection like the Hunter then they should go in that nation.
Or just don’t split it. Hunter is already going to Israel, so why not everything go to Israel?
Not saying Israeli mains would love it but they could definitely benefit having a Leopard 2 MBT to boost their strength (given how Gaijin is so adamant in changing how Merkava armour works).
Finland, Sweden, and Norway all have their vehicles on other TTs
Finland is the only one that has been denied its own equipment and Norway will likely continue to have its equipment given to the US like they recently did.
That would also work and be the healthiest option
iirc they’ve never denied the possibility, but have denied the possibility of moving vehicles (eg Greek AH-64A in the US won’t be “moved” to Israel, they’d just make a copy of it like the Israeli Merkavas)
ref
Officially, they have not denied the possibility. But you can tell they’re very adamant regardless.
I don’t think it has for Spain or Poland, both are just without a home so far. From there many nations have become techtrees or subtrees later, such as Italy, Israel, Finland and more.
Only Australia, Canada and now Singapore are officially stated to be split as their permanent “home” in game, which is the real problem, since that just shows the unwillingness to change this in the future and blatant disrespect for these nations as actual nations.
Either way I wish for Singapore to be in a single nation. I’m still hung up on Cyprus → Israel since it doesn’t really fit imo (as a Cypriot).
Yeah why Cyprus? That’s still something I’m scratching my head about. Do we really need Israel to have a T-80U?
Could be due to gaijin wanting to bump out as many sub as possible to increase the nation’s count ?
Subtrees, despite all they could be and are presented as by Gaijin, are really just a way for Gaijin to add things they want to add.
Want Britain to get a T-90? Now we add India. Israel struggles? Greece and Cyprus. Japans CAS is bad? Malaysia. And so on.
They look for what they want to add, find ways to justify it later.
This can be a well known national connection, or maybe a popular player suggestion, or even some other unknown reason. If its well received it goes through, if not, it probably still does unless it’s absolutely unavoidable. For example look at Gaijin trying to add Singapore to China not once, but twice before cancelling it.
And after it was cancelled, we can see what happens then. They don’t care for representing Singapore, they just want to use their prepared assets while changing their existing plans as little as possible. So they decided to split the nation.
It’s really just disrespectful, since it just shows that to them Singapore was only a tool to add some vehicles somewhere they wanted them, rather than a nation to represent in their game. This attitude is really the main flaw of subtrees, since it causes pretty much all issues the system has.
(I’m not saying national needs shouldn’t be a factor by the way, but I think there should be a mutual respect for these nations, not just one-sided for the host.)
Singapore exists! It’s been something a few of us has been asking for a while given the literal close ties with Israel! Cyprus makes almost no sense and have near zero relations with Israel. The only reason I can see why Cyprus is even considered is because of relations with Greece and Turkey, which means Gaijin might even have plans to add Turkey to Israel at some point.
