It could go the opposite direction as well, where they feel so bad for us, they collaborate with Gaijin to try and improve our experience for Gaijin.
they could try to do it so it is only detailed within a certain distance, and give us the option to change the distance its set to
Brother, i respect your amount of cope and hope, but gaijin will not change
They already do that, there is just no setting to increase the LoD distance levels beyond the maximum we get in the in-game settings
Because you dont understand just how monumentally difficult it is to port the same game on a brand new custom built engine with everything working exactly the same without any bugs or problems. It’s a herculean task.
It took valve more than a decade to replace their old and spaghettified engine with a new one and they’re still dealing with teething issues and legacy bugs. And that’s a company with fuck you levels of money and an extremely talented team of engineers paired with a very engineer heavy culture as well. If those guys are having trouble, then Gaijin would struggle twice as much.
Sounds like we need War Thunder 2.
a truly terminal case of British suffering, may he find peace.
Finance wise it’s never happening. In terms of success war thunder is a generational game, nothing comes close, and there’s a reason it’s so incredibly successful despite the constant bickering and moaning on reddit and the forums.
Gaijin would be shooting themselves in the foot by doing that, I mean that’s literally what Blizzard did with Overwatch (although imo Overwatch was always a complete mess and had horrid design and gameplay loops).
But we have war thunder 2 allready since 5 years, in another 5 years we get War Thunder 3 :))))
True, the game version switched from 1.101 to 2.1 with the New Power update
How do you think actual Brits feel. Same thing happened with Ship building (Harland and Wolff, sold off to Navantia for some reason) and while I’m no tankie, judging by the horror show known as Shakejax, I’m gonna guess the armoured fighting vehicle haven’t been in the room with us since Challenger 2. Which leaves us with… no self sufficient industry, and no plan to reinstate it.
I can live with a “joint” Tank programme, or a “joint” ship, but if we’re outsourcing our ships to Spain (a country known for being so godawful at building ships, they designed an entire class of Submarine that took 20 years to be accepted into service, because well, said submarine sunk, and then didn’t “unsink” like it should’ve) we really are in the pit of despair.
Day 1083 of waiting for Polish tech tree
That question you’re quoting was meant rethorical, as I know how much work that is and everybody knows gaijin would never put that much work into it ^^
FeetPics ranting about someone making their entire life about some pixel vehicles not being realistic enough is truly peak
Sounds a bit like the issue we are having over here in the US with making a light tank. We have been through I think 4 to 5 programs now? Just trying to build a vehicle to fill the role of the Sheridan, and the XM8 has been used in like 3 of those in some variant. Yet here we are 40 years after the first attempt and we have to cancel the production of the vehicle yet again. Personally I think they should have stuck with the M8 system, or at least with the MPF program, the XM1302. I firmly believe at this point, these programs are just to line the pockets of those involved ($1 billion was for the Booker, yet we ended up with nothing).
The issue at least in its latest iteration is that for the protection levels required there is no way to make it air deployable, and if not there’s no reason not to just stick with the M1, M2, M3 & M1126 / M1256, or AMPVs for the required role.
I’d almost have been cheaper to fund, deploy and support a niche clean sheet development for the capacity to straight up airdrop an M1 as an organic part of a Air Assault Division.
They should also pre-bake the maps with ray tracing like how other games do it
I wish he played games like the recently released Half Sword so he can see how much worse a badly optimizef game is.
Funny, as soon as I saw a F-14 and a A-4 together I immediately thought of Top Gun, and only then did I notice the markings on the cat
