Would be cool for sure, but our maps are far too small presently for that kind of game play.
It seems to me one of the main advantage of a gimbals AESA is when you dont want to have at least 2 (or better 4) aircrafts circling in opposite direction to keep a complete radar coverage over an area. Things like the gripen, which might be doing « guerilla » type warfare, taking off alone from a runway, defending an area of the sky alone using its gimbal.
On the other hand, the US generally never operates without a pretty massive military presence, as you said with AWACS, but even then they also use dozen of aircrafts at a time, which almost no other country does

your right and I know it but damn is it growing to be annoying not being able to notch while guiding missiles while everything else can.
Only hope I actually have is aircraft sharing radar info but how would that work if along side like a j20 as an f35 do you allow it since teammates or not because they would never be able to share battlefield data in real life.

Yeah they can support each fighter by sheer quantity of other fighters in the air all equipped with Link16.
Your right but there’s also a massive difference in how the “AVERAGE” player base tends to flare and people who know and understand the difference.
Most just spam 1-2 flares every sec and pull a few low g turns to maintain energy, sometimes turning off WEP, which is fine as it works for most missiles before and is funnily enough the almost perfect way to defeat the 9m seeker type and despite it being much easier to dump flare and pull hard just once in your flares direction.
I would say what ones is harder to flare, both side on and from behind is more dependent on the aircraft and whether is flare up or down. But since most flare downwards the 9m is much easier to defeat. while if you flare upwards the r73 is easier.
I have the utmost luck in seeing these takeoff almost every day haha. Such beautiful (and loud!) aircraft
