They’re already asking for AIM-9X on some comment sections of videos I’ve seen.
Yeah my understanding was none of the retrofit occurred just yet even though it was planned as well alongside the delivery of new planes.
They’ve been begging for 9X for about 18 months, maybe 2 years now, I saw requests for it before they even added the Rafale and Typhoon
Allegedly they have a test aircraft. I guess they aren’t expected to take full delivery until 2031-2035.
I stand corrected.
I’m curious to see their reaction when AIM-9X is added but counterparts like ASRAAM and MICA IR are added alongside it too.
Simple. They will be demanding ASRAAM on all US aircraft
And what happens if Meteor is added, will they ask for AIM-260?
Ive already seen 1 US main say that the ONLY F-35 that should have Meteor is the US one
that and the AIM-174
I wouldn’t expect an Indonesian Rafale F.4 until France gets their Rafale F.4
they went straight to 5th gens with AESA instead
That’s fair. They could get them at the same time or do the classic thing and delay the export ver. by 1 major patch.
Yet they are still looking into getting AESAs for their F-15s
Would be interesting to see that come on super Hornet further weighing its airframe down and can only carry 4. People will do calculations in their head knowing that won’t be enough
Absolutely not, they should not even ask for Meteor on their F-35s.
Yeah… Its does get a bit complicated, and I think its a good way of ensuring that F-35B is balanced vs F-35As and Cs, but I think US mains will expect Meteor on the A, B and C and only on theirs
The only thing that saves the F-18E in ARB from being useless is its loadout. It doesn’t have speed. It doesn’t have maneuverability. It doesn’t have a load of countermeasures.
makes sense. thats the main bulk of their fleet, and the most reliable aircraft in their fleet
who needs their BVR platfrom to be able to go supersonic anyways
It’s going to be weird. In theory there will be 4 different F-35 variants in a multitude of tech trees.
