I think if someone doesn’t want information beforehand and wants to avoid leaks they should just avoid visiting the ONE place on the internet where people crave for them, hahah.
I am an information lover myself; I want as much information as possible as early as possible, I don’t like uncertainty.
I prioritise being able to plan ahead in advance, know whether to save GE/Euro/SL/whatever for potential additions or start grinding my way into a potential addition, etc; rather than craving for “hype” emotions or whatever.
To me, knowing beforehand is an intel-based art!

I mean, there is a reason why Gaijin made an official statement regarding leaks and datamining
Leaks (or Guess lists, as they are now being called) shouldn’t be posted here to begin with, but you obviously can’t stop that from happening
I personally avoid the leak and datamining discords and the only time I ever look at the datamines on the Reddit are when the game is updated and there are no patchnotes available
I’m not in this thread with the intention to discuss leaks, I’m not here to look for leaks, I’m here for the speculation and the discourse
I don’t need to “prepare” for an update, there is nothing to plan for me regarding WT updates, I just play the game whenever I feel like it (or whenever there is an event that I am interested in).
Likewise I don’t buy GE or packs unless there is a sale, I never pre-order, as that is a terrible thing to do when you don’t really know what you are buying into, etc.
And honestly, I can live with the fact that I might waste a couple RP by spading a vehicle before another one arrives. Tech tree vehicles don’t just disappear out of nowhere, there is no need to rush their research.
They said clearly that their issue wasn’t with merely leaking/mining assets on its own; rather, doing what some users were doing, AKA speak in Gaijin’s behalf without permission and beforehand of longer-term plans, intentions, and diving into controversial and subjective topics, etc.
Leaks and datamines had been happening for years with no issue; they only made an official statement after the review bombings and extreme drama unleashed upon all socia media sites over the whole Thai VT-4 thing.
That’s literally what a leak is though
I am also sure the alleged economy changes that got mentioned in a few leaks played into it to.
Stuff like that is why leaks are generally a good thing imo.

@Smin1080p_WT Any hope for LJDAM’s to be added to the rest of the US aircraft it’s currently missing from? The A-10C, F-15E, F-16C, and AV-8B’s (including the Italian Harrier II) are missing their LJDAM’s which they have historically been seen with. It’s been reported numerous times with one report being accepted a year ago but they still lack the weapon.

Both of those cases are releasing information that wasn’t supposed to reach the public (yet)
One of them just happens to cause an actual outcry while the other is seen as harmless

The story with the VT-4 is a little different; the fact that its addition to Japan fell on a Chinese holiday was half the trouble. Most of all, the conflict flared up due to the fact that it was correctly modeled, unlike the original one. The point is that the Chinese asked for this huge amount of time, and at that moment there were no changes to the original machine on the DEV server, while the Thai one was done correctly.

Yeah, they sent a cease and desist to Olivia who hadn’t leaked anything but infantry for the last year.
As far as I’m aware, the Thai VT-4’s stats are literally identical to the Chinese VT-4. In fact it doesn’t even have a 3D model, just a .blk
