Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

@Smin1080p_WT benelux coastal/bluewater still in the ‘nothing to speak of’ phase?

We shouldn’t add sub trees just to give as many trees as possible an EFT or Rafale.

Turkish EFT on US tree would be funnier because one top tier per update with shiny ordnance every month isn’t making the average US main to improve 1%

So they just dump the best thing and call it a sub tree

Go hit up Bohemia, they have everything modeled on the Mi-8 in Reforger.

I agree.

US is upgrading old aircraft to prolong service, so upgraded F-16 and F-15 could be viable as additions. Until those additions, F-16s, F-15s and F-18s upgraded and used by other nations, such as SA, could be added to the US

Reminder that F-15EX are completely New Airframes

Hi Smin,

Are you able to provide any updates on the regenerative steering test that was mentioned by BVVD (i believe)?

Cheers!

Why would the US need upgraded F-15s fielded by foreign nations when the F-15EX is right there and in US service?

The only nation where your argument applies is Israel, thy could use the F-15SG since their F-15IA (EX) isn’t in service yet.

I dont know, why did Gaijin add the F-14 IRIAF.
I think it is likely that these aircraft are going to come to the game, and id rather see them under the US than under Sweden, for example.

Because it’s an interesting version of an already existing vehicle to use as an event vehicle.

It’s a solid event vehicle (besides the balance problems), it doesn’t lock significant things/features behind FOMO but also isn’t too close to the TT version to be considered C&P.

Aye, this is the same reason why gaijin thought the Commonwealth Hornets would be more suitable in Britain than the US since that would mean given the US 6 aircraft that all more or less play the same.

Does the US need a premium ? = Nope they have the Hornet C and F-20.
Does the US need them in the main tech tree ? = Nope, no holes there sir.
Does the US need an event vehicle ?, = No sir’re they have the F-14.
Does the US need a squadron vehicle ?, = Perhaps but a domestic option or a special variant could be used instead.

140km according to xray

code says 120/140 for “Transciever Range” and 150/170 for “Maximum Transciever range”

though stupidly it has a Max lock range of 200km, hilarious

After the planned tech tree changes with rank 9, will italy be getting any more vehicles/subtrees to help fill their rank 8? It is about to have only 4 options, less than sweden.

Well… even better then, right? Shorter grind to the top.

Considering we are getting Hungarian lower tiers, I doubt Italy would have any other new planes the same update.
For rank 8 I’m waiting for M-346FA, would be a crazy thing, transsonic with extremely powerful weapons, plus Romanian LanceR C, should be rank 8 worth (but Gaijin should overcome its barrier to add Romanian unique stuff beyond premium and events).

Spoiler

There could be also IT-ECR Tornadoes (EA-200B/D), but there is no sign of ARMs.
And there can also be a better interceptor stick - F-104S.ASA-M with AIM-9L/I-1, not sure if it’s rank 7 or 8 material.

technically, all the other F-15’s have been used by USAF shortly or in the F-15SG case for many years now

While that is fair, there would still be no need for them. There will never be enough BRs to have them at seperate BRs, so all that would happen is that you just have a whole bunch of foreign F-15E variants at the same BR as the superior F-15EX.

Yes, we know, you’ve told us often enough by now

The point is that the US doesn’t need another nation to get a better F-15

they might raise the BR of the EX later on, which would leave 14.7 open

That would require the F-15EX to be 14.7 to begin with

We don’t know what BR an F-15EX would end up at and what other F-15s Gaijin is gonna add over time

For all we know, Gaijin could pull another (late) move and add another F-15E with upgrades
