Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Yeah, it hasn’t stopped them, but why advocate for them to continue that behavior?

Sure, the AMRAAMs are the worst at HOBS performance, but they’ll still be able to hit as long as the enemy is ~5km away (assuming a full notch). Also, being able to keep a radar track while defending is a massive advantage itself.

For sure, however the one annoying thing about PESA/AESA radar sets is that they keep track of all the planes it sweeps over, so that makes cyclic targeting a pain lol.

I can already hear the crying about an “ahistorical nerf” from here.

i think they will simply make it an aesa radar n call it a day. ig it will be similar to rafale’s radar ?

What if they copy the AESA F-15’s radar?

i think it still uses a fixed plate , so it will still be similar to rafale’s radar. im talking about azimuth coverage n vertical scan zones.

I dont really see an issue with it personally. It does open the door to some interesting additions to the USSR tree in the future though.

If the plan is to add AESA to all nations

Then it would be rather unfair to deny 3 nations any AESA simply on the grounds its got an advantage. Especially if another nation already has that exact same advantage. and thats the point i was/am trying to make.

Especially as the EFT also trialed another AESA radar before in 2008 the CAESER, that could be added instead.

I have never fired an AMRAAM greater than 10-15 degrees off the nose. I would never ever dare fire one in a 90 degree notch. It would drain so much energy it would be easier to defeat than an Aim-54.

Which is being fixed next major with the new radar targeting thing. Also in ASB, I already dont use cyclic targetting for exactly this reason, even with M_scans, havent for years. I only dont in ARB because it was too fiddly to set up well.

Sure, but it still beats out Goldfish-M we had for 6 months

Here is a question about the M55 though, what ammunition should it have access too? Its main round was the M106 HE, which the M110 Howitzer also used, but there is also the M650 Rocket Assisted Projectile (RAP), and the nuclear shells. The M110 fired the RAP and nuclear shells, but the M55 shared the same caliber size, sooooo? Also, the M106 round was proxy capable.

i honestly feel like we will get t4 eft , gripen e ,su35 in the dec update.

Also I dont think so as they have been being used as mostly fire support vehicles iirc so they haven’t been near the front.

No, Oryx lists 2 as lost (one damaged but recovered and repairable + one destroyed)

They’ll probably just copy from another radar close in size and T/R count
We have some questionably reliable T/R counts for the J-10B/C and J-16

hope we get the teaser today.

But its still Sunday. :P

Might be tomorrow but probably Wednesday

I know this will annoy some players but does the Spanish Hornet and Corasian Rafales has AESA ?

Its sunday,u dont get anything. Teaser thursday, dev stream friday next week.

Stop it, go outside and touch grass

  1. No
  2. What standard are they

I have no idea. Rafales I dont think ever had anything other than PESA or AESA.

But Spanish Hornets… I dont know.

Ah it will be the Spanish Typhoons

" Spanish fighter jets, specifically the Eurofighter Typhoon, are being equipped with the Captor-E radar, also known as the ECRS Mk1, through the Halcón program. This Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar enhances the aircraft’s capabilities with simultaneous multi-mode air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. The first flight of a Spanish Eurofighter with this AESA radar occurred in December 2024,

" Yes, the Croatian Rafale aircraft are equipped with the Thales RBE2-AA Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar"

Well that answers my question
