40km is the maximum permissible interception range. That is for targets unaware or missile etc.
In game if you actively defend against it the realistic range will be closer to 20-25.
I support the need for a Kh-38MT counter. Would I rather Gaijin just removed the missile…yes of course but they didn’t so measures had to be taken

Pantsir could actually shoot you just as you rendered in. They would look at the airspawn and see the dot and shoot 2 missiles, you wouldn’t get a launch warning on your aircraft as you were not fully spawned.

Overall, the big things I’m excited for is the Gneisenau, the C something something /sa5, and the F2! I just hope China gets a 14.0 as well to compliment the F2’s addition !

If they model IRIS-T correctly any aircraft that need to be closer will just be destroyed. Typhoon with it’s Brimstone style play will be impossible

That range reduces when the target is defending though, no one will be getting kills at 40km with an IRIS-T not that the maps are big enough
F-2 has an AESA at least, they can copy and paste it from the Rafale, Su-30 or the KFIR
20-30km is still enough to hard counter most CAS at the moment
