No, it is. It’s not canceled officially, but “the situation” tells it.
If they could have built it more cost-effectively they definitely would rather have it, at least for the APS if nothing else, seeing as they’re trying to build all new T-series with APS now.

Only the unmanned 152 would be somewhat “OP”.
And that weird wedge looking thing with a 152 on it would probably cause some outrage because of dubious actual construction status and supposedly very good armor.
APS wont save a tank from a 100s of FPV drones. APS is for city fighting like Gaza in real combat you need layered protection and that is suppression of drones using EW.

Yeah, it’s kind of funny that the aps will probably protect you against an atgm but a drone could still kill you.
I wonder if a tanker team would prefer an APS equipped tank or a Cope Shed.
Because Ukraine in this case do not possess a credible armoured threat.
They never have and when they do look to be amassing potential forces Russia would rather use aviation to destroy them.
If Ukraine had a credible armoured threat and if the T-90M, T-72B3 and T-80BVM were insufficient then maybe you would have an argument. But again for the cost and training can you guarantee that one T-14 will survive and destroy 5+ UA tanks…It’s like why build a new tank when the Sherman, T-34 and Panzer IV are good enough.
Probably both to be honest but the drone teams are very good they find the perfect weak point
Or maybe they don’t want to risk their most advanced tank being destroyed by an fpv drone, and they have apparently been used as artillery in Ukraine, so they were used, just not in risky situations.

We have 4 prototype tanks, which were later used to create the Armata, and have an unmanned turret and 152mm guns.
That’s by the by FPV drones will destroy any tank even ones with an APS system.
It does depend, APS can be programmed to also respond to threats like FPV drones, idk how effectively but it’s possible.

Because there isn’t a necessity to deploy an untested asset when you don’t need to. You may see T-14 deployed in the last few weeks/months of the conflict like the Pershing and Centurion were.
