Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

It should be more like SARH missiles in game for the user, where u lock, launch, and don’t have to care about it except from pointing your radar at the general direction, also since it’s ESA it can be a pretty large angle.

The IRIS-T in game will operate on the command guidance/Radar at first and then when it goes terminal it will be the IR seeker that guides the missile.

Orientation will still be important like the TOR, I wouldnt think it would have an unimpeded 360 degree launch window?

I wonder if Chaff early will confuse the missile before it can go terminal? Like every really new feature it will take time to refine

And FnF Russia have the Strela the best FnF SAM in the game :P

Yeah and priority targets

Yeah that could be one way to do it. external view is going to be pretty useless these systems are huge!

Does the TOR need to face a target? Doesn’t the missile just spin towards where the target is?
The SLM and SLS do have an unimpeded 360 degree launch window.

Meh, if chaff already does jack all against a pantsir, i can’t see how it can do much against an even bigger AESA radar, the thing that matters more is the distance where the missile goes terminal.

Well the Chinese spaa and the Swedish SLS are bound to be better, especially the Chinese one.
Did the Russians modernize the Strela, like ever?

U can sort of do it by selecting the auto lead but it is really inconsistent and the fact that u still have to lock on by looking in the direction and locking with basically ACQ is ridiculous. Should have been like AIM7P, TWS + datalink launch.

Also really easy to implement.

US only on that one though

Oh, so exciting, around what time could i expect the Teaser? :)

Think the North Koreans did some stuff or maybe Vietnam, don’t think the Russians were very into that once 2S6 came along. (they got a new toy so they kinda ditched the old ones)
The one we got in game is pretty much the 1989 version of Strela.

that’s why it’s only under the ADATS…

If you have concerns over removed comments, Feel free to PM us. Don’t discuss it openly thanks ^^

They are both called the ADATS. The UK has one too, without the gun

I think it’s pretty easily implied that if the 25mm gun is there I am specifically talking about the US’s ADATS.

forget it lol

Yes, but the conversation earlier was just as much about the UK not getting a new SPAA as it was the US.

i laughed a lot

ok? just ignore the 25mm gun part then, idc

The tracking radar in theory can only track so much of the front hemisphere, but there shouldn’t be anything stopping it from firing just with TWS and not having to lock with ACQ.

I figured it does pretty well against TOR especially in LEAD mode. The radar is too good, sees every chaff as individual targets lol.

we have a upgraded 9M333 missile can be added
and the Sosna-R with 9M337 (more a small 2S6 but it is designed to replace Strela)

Krona-E with 9M333 and 9M340 (the Strela missile is back)

I know currently Czechoslovakia is just the odd vehicle but IF the L-39 is solidifying it into the USSR tree, then the tree is dead, though as you mention stuff can be moved around.

As for why I brought up Romania, it could of been a subtree to provide some lower tier vehicles and fill in gaps left by Hungary. However with the fact we see several Romanian vehicles in Italy already, I have my doubts.
