Pantsir can have an auto track mode, implemented for the later models. Russian operater is not guiding a Pantsir missile manually at ranges up to 20kms. Like Stormer you fire and the reticle tracks the target.
Pantsir S2 can use the same missiles as the S1 they can mix and match payloads with some kintetic rounds and proximity missiles.
The V-4 concept is very much still alive, while yes the soviet union does house Czechoslovak vehicles, they’re confirmed to be only gap fillers and not part of a sub tree, same thing has been done with Israel in the past, and besides it means more in-game models! While yes Hungary is stuck in Italy and I don’t understand why you included Romania, there are still plenty of other alternatives to bring it into the game
PLEASE I BEG, we need similar maps like falklands but for tank battles. just nice large hilly terrain to fight on with multiple objectives and things to do like convoy attacks, defense/ push, etc.
Against Su-30/34 and probably the Rafale they can use their payloads from further ranges.
Against Typhoon/EF with Brimstones and F-15s with AGM-65 it will be lethal.
Still requires LOS to the Pantsir which is what I’m referencing with FnF, the missiles from an SLM and most other launchers of it’s kind (CAMM/MICA VL/Spyder) will have a kind of ballistic arch to them, which coupled with the independent IR seeker will make it so even if a target hides from your radar the missile will still be able to see them.
So targets can’t just hide away behind terrain, unless of course gajiin makes the seeker trash and can be flared away easily.
The SLM and systems as big as it will heavily depend on the map anyway, there’s gonna be plenty of maps where you’ll just get a HE in your radar, already happens with Pantsir, it’s gonna be worse on these.
It should be more like SARH missiles in game for the user, where u lock, launch, and don’t have to care about it except from pointing your radar at the general direction, also since it’s ESA it can be a pretty large angle.
The IRIS-T in game will operate on the command guidance/Radar at first and then when it goes terminal it will be the IR seeker that guides the missile.
Orientation will still be important like the TOR, I wouldnt think it would have an unimpeded 360 degree launch window?
I wonder if Chaff early will confuse the missile before it can go terminal? Like every really new feature it will take time to refine
And FnF Russia have the Strela the best FnF SAM in the game :P
Does the TOR need to face a target? Doesn’t the missile just spin towards where the target is?
The SLM and SLS do have an unimpeded 360 degree launch window.
Meh, if chaff already does jack all against a pantsir, i can’t see how it can do much against an even bigger AESA radar, the thing that matters more is the distance where the missile goes terminal.
Well the Chinese spaa and the Swedish SLS are bound to be better, especially the Chinese one.
Did the Russians modernize the Strela, like ever?
U can sort of do it by selecting the auto lead but it is really inconsistent and the fact that u still have to lock on by looking in the direction and locking with basically ACQ is ridiculous. Should have been like AIM7P, TWS + datalink launch.
Think the North Koreans did some stuff or maybe Vietnam, don’t think the Russians were very into that once 2S6 came along. (they got a new toy so they kinda ditched the old ones)
The one we got in game is pretty much the 1989 version of Strela.
