it was a joke because you know Duke of York was the one to sink Scharnhorst
Ah right, but it was actually Belfast that bullied Scharnhorst, she was retreating when the taskforce containing DoY intercepted her
imagine rank IX
Yeah! I have noticed lately that destroying and burning turrets is a semi-reliable way of destroying ships, as fires travel down the elevators to the ammo racks.
I like this. If you put down the fire quickly, you are fine; but if you ignore it or are too slow to address it, you are doomed. Nice mechanic both for gameplay and balance.
also a little poke, no regenerative steer for tanks that have it and we are talking about very modern tanks
OR armor that makes sense, and tanks not able to climb etc…
just small things that can really affect everything and top tier
Yeah, needs a little refinement I think, but its done a lot to address the insane imbalance at top tier we had for a while
Tanks having traction is a marketing lie.
true i forget im sorry, please don’t make traction and climbing more realistic any more
I’m talking about rank 7-8 that interests me.
This would not be correct. Many vehicles have been introduced into Rank VIII for ground. The Leopard 2A7, M1A2 SEP V2, T-90M, Challenger 3 TD, VT-4, and STRV 122B+ to name some.
Since then, we have been very clear the focus was on bringing aircraft up to speed with ground, which lagged significantly behind in terms of technology and age.
Ground was far from ignored in the meantime. New subtrees have been introduced, gap filling vehicles added and long awaited vehicles across the board came in. We do not only focus on top tier content.

tbf she only started retreating because she confused the 6inch star shells of bellfast as star shells from DoY when compared to the 4inch star shells of the destroyers, and DoY’s task force were the ones that cut her off from retreating lol
I meant on the 500 day period since the December 2023 update, when most of those were implemented.
After that update, over the next 500 days, only Leopard 2A7HU and Namer Trishkon have been implemented to Rank VIII.
This is true. However, at least 1 or 2 more additions to Ground Rank VIII over these 500 days couldn’t have hurt… :')
In that sense, I am glad this update will be bringing new Rank VIII SAMs. Between the new Top Tier SAMs and the new Battleships, this update is looking amazing for me!
not heard of that before.
I was under the impression it was just the superior radar on the British ship and the appauling weather meant that Scharn couldnt fight back and her captain was under orders to not risk her sinking and had already taken a few bad hits from the 6" guns that gave her pause
she got hit in the engine above armor belt i think which sealed her fate by i think york she could have ran if not for that hit
Indeed. And its been covered many times why that was, ground was very clearly far ahead. That hasn’t stopped new ground vehicles from coming to the game however.
huh weird, either way it was still DoY’s task force that stopped her retreat and resulted in her sinking (its almost like it was a trap lol)
SPAA still lagg behind
nothing she could have done would have been cool if they lived nice museum ship
This update’s upcoming Top Tier SAM systems is something I am really looking forward to.
At last, the Ground Rank VIII drought is over, now that Air finally caught up!
And yes, I understand that air had to catch up a bit. It was weird to see 2010s MBTs going into battle with 1970s planes.
However, planes went from being behind ground to surpassing it by a large margin, at least in Ground RB, because of Ground’s insufficient tools to deal with the new air threats- a situation that is gladfully going to be corrected (at least partially) this update thanks to these new SAMs!
