Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

  1. They should

  2. There are also Korean and Vietnam versions with some changes

  1. lmao
  2. Yeah, new radar and a different AA suite. Not going to matter much without huge changes to the mode (lol as if they’d ever)

not really, Soyuz will come with Lion and H-39 both of which would probably beat it, the only way soyuz wins is if gaijin gives her guns fantasy stats like the krons

Also heard they adjusted something with the 16" timing to make it more accurate

…did you miss both the reliable leak lists and the datamines?

More probably they’re in denial, like the people still thinking we’re not getting IRIS-T SLM. :)

it is surprising that we’re jumping to 40km death spheres in the first update with new SPAA. Especially as multiple nations appear to be getting nothing in that regard. Even sweden with the IRIS-T SLS wont be able to compete against the SLM. Just feels very… unbalanced.

because they want to test new mechanics with the SLM, so that they probably can copy paste the patriot into every tech tree the update after that

Even then, that makes no sense, when things like SLAMRAAM and Skysabre also exist with much shorter ranges than SLM and could be outfitted with external radars.

IRIS-T SLS made sense for testing IIR, but SLM just feels kinda insane.

But at least it means massive buffs for CAS

The leak also talks about type 81 radar vehicle and ARH missile. Iirc that missile has 14km range, it would be a much healthier way to test it, if that was the intention.

We can only hope for now

SLM is there to test Multi vehicle AA and 2 way DL if you ask me

Then wouldnt an ARH missile be better for that and not an IIR missile?

Considering we jumped from simple LGBs to 40-70km F&F missiles, it doesn’t seem unlikely but idk.

H-39 will 100% be the best BB in the game, if/whenever it comes.

Right now, I have doubts about Bismarck being the Top 1 because of its smaller guns and thinner turret/barbette armor; but H-39 solves all of these weaknesses.

(Always remember this is an ingame gameplay wise debate; not a real life one.)

i saw a few ppl speculating that the SLM will have a “passive radar”
(i have no idea where it comes from tho)
which would mean that you can only see air targets that have their radar turned on

which could also be a test for the implementation of SEAD / DEAD weapons

but in the end we have to wait and see and disscussing balance beforehand is pointless anyways because we have no clue on how gaijin will implement all that stuff

All datalink in game is 2-way, funnily enough, atleast on ARHs. 1-way datalink shouldn’t have the real time updates on the missile’s trajectory and distance to target like it has right now.

It should be noted datalink does not exist on IR missiles in game currently, even on ones like the R-27ETs which claim to have it it doesn’t actually

Given the fact we have several nations with sub 10km SACLOS still for top tier, who dont look to be getting anything better this major update. Having 40km FnF IIR SAMs probably at the same BR is just… wierd too me.

“Top tier AA”

well ig they get the Spyder next update so it should be fine then

I know from where it comes, it does so because SLM can work with one.
Thats not how it works. Such radar uses things like TV or radio. TV or Radio waves are deflected from a plane, and that disruption is detected by a passive radar.
It is not a RWR, it does not work on that principle.
