SLM is alot bigger than the standart IRIS-T
and when looking at the size 40km seem not too far fetched
I always wondered if SLM also uses Thrust Vectoring, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
they have tied 2nd or 3rd best SPAA in the game, also both the UK and Italy are in a worse state for SPAA then germany, there is no logical choice that the SLM was added before CAMM, CAMM could go to 2 nations SLM is only for germany and only has a 40km missile
it is still a TVC missile, the name means:

Doesn’t CAMM have an AIO option with the E/O mast? So it wouldn’t need to be a multi-vehicle endeavor anyway.
gaijin will probably just give everyone the patriot so they will just not bother with anything else
that dosent matter when there is going to be a new best one and i said weaker CAS not AA
You can keep overrating the TOR as much as you want, but that doesn’t suddenly make it second best.
Hell third best is already a stretch imo.
it is 1st place for being the coolest AA
you cant beat the vertically launched missiles

kinda the E/O mast allows the launcher to us its 2 way DL it just wont have a radar to spot targets
what would you say is 3rd best then? because its between HQ-17 and FlakRakRad
That will probably be worth more, considering for multi-vehicles if either of them dies you’re gone.
Interestingly there’s some speculation that the “(pr)” tag near the SLM leak means that it comes with a “passive radar” second vehicle, which would mean you can only target airplanes/helicopters that have their radar scanning around you, in which case would make it a very weird system.
Having used all of them, my personal third best is still ADATS/HQ tied if both are used at the same BR. They are mostly tied because the HQ has a lower BR.
The HQ17 is just another case of a vehicle that looks really strong on paper but it’s just too clunky when actually used in game.
idk how you can class the ADATS 3rd best, its only thing it has is it can be used as a TD thats it

It cannot. That’s a ukrainian modification, maybe not even on the same vehicle and definitely not one that Germany is adopting.
I really like the HQ-17 and TOR and I don’t get why people call them bad.
The 2.5km dead zone is the only bad thing about it
The missile is on the slow side but super stable
And with practice it’s really easy to hit maneuvering targets
it not being third best or at best being shared third best isn’t calling it bad.
A decent pilot will have no problem exploiting it’s weaknesses and will increase the deadzone to about ~5km.
hell even as TD its kinda clunky
i had numerous time that my missiles phased through the enemies
