Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

thats the thing, the F-2A Early could not do that with JDAM’s because to set a mark for JDAM’s the aircraft needs a proper connection to GPS, which the F-2A didnt have

Yeah exactly, just like the Brits kept targeting Tirpitz. Those ships were just too much of a threat.
(Though they looked very cool)

Huh I see. Then I dont know what advantage it would bring, perhaps a blowout panel? Though soviet MBT really only blow up if people take full ammo.

I’d agree if it was still just an on-paper plan or if F-2s hadn’t underwent any modifications in preparation.

But they were specifically prepared for the HMD, which was also designed and made specifically for the F-2, even if it isn’t operationally used now. Considering how essential HMD is, especially when trying to match the likes of Eurofighter and Rafale, I’d be more surprised if it lacks HMD.

It’s also not the only theoretical addition, considering the leaked F-2 has MRM rails on the inner stations, which is a theoretical loadout but not operationally used as well.

It’d probably not get JDAM, though I think there was also other similar cases in game where aircraft still got them. So I’d say if this is really the case we might still see JDAM on them, which could be useful at the ~13.0 BR of an early F-2

If it has something like an explosive panel, it seems to me that the crew location is a little further down, this other issue with the engine, but the sources different, but theoretically it could have the GTD-1500.

Hi. I gonna try sinking all of them with fritz X .
It’s gonna be fun to hunt these ne BB’s in naval EC.

Eh, unless F-14 and 15A get their actually tested HMD’s I don’t see why the F-2 should get one on a display stand

There have been so extremely little MBT additions last year that “cooling it with the MBT additions” would legit mean completely stopping any MBT additions lol.

Regarding the leaked IRIS-T SLM, the “pr” in brackets should refer to the abbreviation of passive radar

well the F-14 and F-15A at the current moment dont require it as few things at their BR’s have HMD and high performance missiles, but at 14.0 its something thats pretty much required

awwwww

Object 640 is gonna be wild. I’m afraid with my current pace of life, I’ll be pulling out the old wallet…

F-4S and J do, and they only see those in a downtier, and I’m sure a couple other

Uh…good luck with that. With how tedious the naval grind is, I can only anticipate the most skilled and dedicated players getting them on the end of the patch week. Not to mention there are at least six ships to grind.
I felt that naval RP requirements would need a drop. Tier 6 ships would be reasonable between 280k and 300k after tier 7 is confirmed by the vanguard, ships below are fine.

Well, every single active service F-2 was also modified in preparation of mounting this HMD, meaning any active service F-2 is already compatible with it without needing further modification. That’s probably a point just as important as the HMD actually existing for the chance of it being added.

Though I’m personally also not against tested HMD on F-14/15, I’d even say those could be interesting features to set especially the US F-15A apart from other early F-15s in game. Someone should make a suggestion/report (not sure) if there isn’t already one

i said few, not none. And the only other things there with an HMD is the A-10C and Thai F-5 SCU but those dont have a large enough impact nor have high performance missiles (A-10C does but the 9M’s are screwed by a horrendous launch speed because the A-10 is abhorrently slow)

It’s like asking why can the F-15J(M) use AIM-120s. It has provisions for it so it can use it in WT. IRL they probably don’t use it because they’d rather use their domestic munitions as they can produce it as opposed to buying AIM-120s

Aside from that, from a gameplay perspective having a HMD at top tier is kind of a must and any small evidence is enough justification. Heck you have the Thai F-16A OCU with an HMD it shouldn’t have but was given a fake one because top tier

If we get an HMD for the F-2, I’d love to see the plug and play HMD system developed and tested on the Ja-37D!
