It was at least partially for their F-15 fleet, for the better 120D performance over the AAM-4
Edit: and this is speculation on my part: if their JSI upgrade incorporates the station 1 & 9 pylon, 120s are already certified for the stations

Since F-2 is coming as presumably the late model, I think F-22 is probably going to be similar. I can’t see them adding something as hype as an F-22 without the basic features for a top tier aircraft, including HMD. Maybe an F-22 early afterwards as an event or squad vehicle
In a couple of weeks after the patch there will be plenty of them.
With the new rank they should reduce RP requirements for all lower ranks. Like always the new ranks come with RP changes.

Good point considering JSI doesn’t have compatibility with Japanese AAM from what I’ve heard
Also the domestic medium range missiles from what it seems won’t be integrated with the F-15JSI, so probably for that too once it’s done.
No because no HMD is a balancing factor for the raptor so it can reasonably be added in December + it follows logical progression like F-15A to 15C

Honestly, i think it would be better if we got something like the F-35 before the F-22, mostly because when it comes to flight performance and its RCS it is quite a bit worse thanks to the big fat butt engine. Tech wise for the purposes of War Thunder its not too different from the F-22

Well they did it for the F-15A and C, and I think that’s more relevant as an example in US tt
Same for F-2 then, the late one should have HMD. Simply having a 6 + 4 loadout isn’t enough to make it suddenly equal to a Eurofighter, so HMD that it was specifically modified to use and that did exist should be added.
The F-15Js for example have a similar situation with AMRAAM, where they did get modifications to be able to use them, but never did in service. In game they still got them because the provisions are there and Japan does technically have the AMRAAM (even if it should be the B instead of the A, but they are identical in game)
this is also why we will never get buddy lasing for stuff like hellfires
They can add it as squad only feature. Also, there are many advanced capabilities on the F-35 that should be given time to properly be modeled.
As far as basic game mechanics go the F-22 is all clear, while the things that make F-35 good need time to be made an refined
I think the biggest argument in favor of F-35 before F-22 is everybody can get one at the same time. And I thoroughly agree that is how it should come.
But if the F-22 does come first, an “early” is the fairest way to do it as the stealth will likely be watered down and 4 x 120Bs and 2x9Ms is nothing special with how AESAs are modeled.
Or even 8 x 120Bs with the external stores.
By that time 120C-5s are likely going to be in the game anyway.

TBF this applies to like everything with the 120A. Frankly everything except the US F-15C and F-4F ICE should have 120Bs as their model.
EOTS and DAS capabilities, more refined sensor fusion, the whole HMD deal, actually getting its proper weaponry, all would matter in-game
First stealth fighter should come first, not something built with experience from it
