If they want to add one fast, they have to “steal” one from another tech tree.
If they want to add an American one, they have to scour through prototypes to find a decent one that won’t be an ADATS sidegrade or not possible due to range being too high.

Patriot is going to be exclusively AI, calling it now.
Its face hardened not cemented armour and it couldn’t be built in plates of more than 9.8" thick. Face hardened plates crack and lose all kinetic effectiveness, 2 plates laminated is always worse than one singular plate. if you by some miracle survived the first shell you would not survive a second hit to that place.
This is not true, fire control was a notable weak point of the Soyuz’s design as Russia really had no idea what they were looking for they also had no radar integration, as you can see with the Battle of Guadal Canal where a number of hits were achieved with radar not optical rangefinding. The guns are also insanely inaccurate.
Indeed Soyuz if modelled correctly would have the worse armour at top tier, in fact she would have worse armour than some 6.7’s.

This is why Sovetsky is an abysmal ship, firstly, most estimates deduce that she had a high chance of literally splitting apart upon launch, she didn’t have the hull design to actually achieve her desired speed nor the machinery. Her shafts were not properly reinforced and went under the boilers. Hard hits or torpedo hits would end up with a worse situation than what happened to POW in that her propeller shaft would break but she may also experience a boiler/steam explosion as the shaft runs below the boilers.
More importantly though, she was just lines drawn on paper, the best shipbuilding nations wouldn’t have designed a ship anything like her and what makes it worse is that it would’ve been hard to make such a meh design work, let alone in Soviet Union where the actual materials and tech needed wasn’t even available.
Question is would the RN have pursued Bismark if the Hood wasn’t destroyed. Say both ships traded shots and ended up damaged and decided to retreat would the RN have mobilised the reserves in Nova Scotia to hunt down and destroy Bismark?
It won’t be. That’s much of my point. It will get the paper speed, it will get good modern rangefinders, it’s belt will not be in two pieces like is historical, and the belt will be made of the intended cemented armour and not face-hardened.
It will just be irritating to see other more competent shipbuilding nations struggle at top tier against this behemoth because they were not so stupid as to draw some lines on paper and rush into something they couldn’t finish and waste Billions of rubles.
