pretty sure the current f2a can use the aam5 just not aam5b.
Even if F-2 can use AAM-5, it wont be something added anytime soon since Gaijin has stated that high performance and impossible to flare IR missiles wont be added anytime within the near future, which hampers the F-2 at the current moment and make it a little bit worse than the F-16 OCU ingame since the OCU has an HMD for its IR missiles which makes it more effective in closer in fights
AAM-5 has not been integrated on the F-2. Only ADTW test aicraft are flying around with it rn - Only F-15J(M) and a small amount of F-15J post-IRAN received full operational capability of AAM-5/B.
If I had to guess, it will most likely be integrated along with the new air launched stealth cruise missile based off Type 12 SSM. But thats still a few years away.
The only F-2 that would do good at the BR it would end up at is the F-2 Early which would be 12.7 or 13.0, since it is a bit higher performance than the F-16A’s are and has a bit larger missile capacity and ofc a cracked radar
The J-10 and J-11B still has much of its arsenal to be featured and the radar is rather inconsistent, why do you think the F-2 will get any better treatment? Sure Japan has been given a lot of paper vehicles that should be removed asap, but these are another case.
Honestly with the potential prospect of the RAH-66 Comanche being added, id love to see Heli’s be usable in Air Sim since they are aircraft, the mode features scenario’s which attack Heli’s were designed to go up against, and i want to experience some of that Heli PVP game action boomers got to experience
Okay, so add the F-2 and give it the tail number of one with the ADTW. There, problem solved.
JSI is an F-15J airframe with some EX electronics, they can’t copy anything airframe related
Issue with the JSI, is that somehow, just like the F-2, in game it’d honestly be worse then the F-15J(M) we already have. It lacks domestic AAM capabilities as currently planned, meaning only AMRAAMS + sidewinders. Which, considering japan doesn’t have D block amraams yet, is honestly worse then what they already have. Likewise in game Aim-120C-5s + 9Ls (since 9Xs aren’t coming yet in game, and japan lacks 9Ms), would be considerably worse then the J(M), considering the J(M) can technically get C-5s anyways.
Would give some nations ab equivalent to strike aircraft at brackets where they completely lack any, and gives reason to sacrifice some A2G missiles to slap on extra guns or AAM’s
if you want heli pvp go play ground sim. Its near unplayable because of the heli spam.
The only real issue is that if they put Heli spawns at the plane runways it would take 5 years to reach midmap so a bit of a compromise. Use the bases mechanic already ingame and have them be where Heli’s spawn
Yeah no iv played it in Sim ground. Its not a great experience if anyone is even semi competent with an SPAA
It would kinda ruin the gameplay. Helis would just sit there RPing as SAM sites. Sim’s already exploitable enough without another layer of toxic crap to throw in. Perhaps if we got a permanent version of something like the SEAD game mode? Or even of they redid sim entirely to be more like that game mode. where its more objective based than just grinding points against AI.
What about SkyGuard-M and quad FlaRakRad with hfk/kv missiles?
Not ever Heli has AAM’s, and actually using the AAM’s that some have would not be ideal for most Heli’s since they mostly lack the proper detection tools and unlike in GRB its quite a bit harder to aim the AAM’s. The only way youd get smacked by a Heli roleplaying as a SAM site is if you are bombing with CCIP instead of CCRP and decide to be on the deck and slow
Ty-90 would disagree with you bud. People already sit there and camp the airspawn in grb with them. in sim it would be another toxic mess. maybe if heli’s got a completely reworked br system to be inline with air. but as of rn you’d be putting them in the same lobbies as mig21s and f4js.
hfk/kv literaly is a prototype missle which does not have enough data to be implemented
same with skyguard
You know, there is something i wonder about the AAM-5’s integration on the F-2. The 3D RWR that was tested was supposed to use the AAM-5, and supposedly worked, but it was from before AAM-5s began testing on the TRDI F-2s.
