Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Okay but the J-10 wasn’t a year and a half past due, the F-2 is. It really needs some level of accuracy to be remarkable in the slightest.

Yeah well unfortunately we have to be realistic with what gaijin will do :)

You have zero chance of that coming :(

I know, i was just responding to the guy how the radar/control vehicle looks like.

Bc afaik there is no export restrictions on DM63 but m919 being DU isn’t really allowed to be exported

8x mica were tested onto F3 back in 2014 and the hmd was sold to other country for the F3 standard

I’m starting to fear Germany’s “advanced SPAA” will be a Skyranger. Which, while pretty cool, is still a gun, possibly with manpads. That won’t help at all, it wouldn’t even be top-tier

Do US autocannons use German ammo?

Uh, hell yeah. The Gripen E is amazing.
More thrust, More hardpoints (9 Missiles), 360* MAWS, AESA radar, IRST sensor.
And still the trolly BOL Pods with 680CM so you can UFO dogfight and “preflare” everything with periodic CM release.

Honestly, might be better than the F-2 right now. We arent even sure if that gets a HMS afaik. At top tier, no HMS?
And who knows that F-2 Model Gaijin adds.
Oh, and Gaijin will probably get specifications wrong, gimped radar, gimped FM, gimped weapons, etc.

None of the F-2’s has an HMD. There was a proposal add one to the F-2 but that didnt go anywhere thanks to some budget woes and the F-35 becoming available for purchase

Thai Gripen-E and that new upgrade program for the F-15Js, please.
F-2 has all the hype but I just cant see it!!!

No, but I’d be open to no more DM63 if it went down to 8.0

F-15JSI would be neat, but the program isnt finished yet. Its primarily just a radar and fire control systems upgrade, but the AESA radar and modernized computers could mean compatibility for AAM-4B which the F-15J(M)'s lack, but it will still pretty much be similar performance to ghe F-15J(M) since its still the same platform, no imporved engines as of yet

F-15J(M) has full access to AAM-4B and even AAM-5/B, which the F-2 doesn’t have. JSI is also going to integrade more than just a new Radar and FCS.

Gaijin hardly couldve meant the F-2 as a top-tier for Japan then.
Lacking those advanced missiles, no HMS, it cant be any better than something like the F-16C.
So I guess Japan will remain without a top-tier to compete with the 30SM, Rafale, EF2000…

As long as they can get enough information, or just guesstimate accurately enough, I dont see that stopping them.
A lot of future aircraft will be guesstimation so they have to cross that boundary eventually, let it be with a smaller nation and a less important aircraft.

If they really dont want to do that though, the Gripen-E is the easiest option I think.
Same time as SWE gets it.

Or really lazy, and just add the AAM4 and AAM5 to the J(M)

well honestly, could be possible
equivalent to the chinese one

would be sad, specialy that sweden gets a new top tier spaa, but well

F-2 can use AAM-5 and AAM-4B. The problem is that the early production version couldnt since neither missiles existed when it came out in the 90’s and took some upgrades happening in the early 2010’s. In regards to the JSI the only way they could really add it is if they copied stats from the F-15EX since JSI is supposed to use alot of components from it bit if the program finishes without all the components it would probably be nerfed into the ground. At this point tho i do think that it would be better if we got the JSI and Grippen E for Japan before the F-2 since even the late production F-2 has alot going against it compared to those 2. F-2 kinda just works better as a filler for BR holes

Besides adversiting an ASEAN Founders Sub-TT, there is nothing anyone can do against that. Unless we consider paper vehicles again (F-2A/B Super Kai).

Has yet to be integrated. The missile did not exist when F-15J entered service either.

pretty sure the current f2a can use the aam5 just not aam5b.
