Unfortunate… At least it’s not the empty weight of 22,500 kg of the full back. So it’ll probably be between those two in terms of acceleration, I presume?
I do quite enjoy the Su-27’s acceleration, even if it’s not as good as something like the F-15E. A shame that it’ll be a bit worse, but I’ll do anything to get a better radar at this point on the Flanker platform.
I know about the range, what I’m mostly wondering about is the modes. Which is why I brought up the Yak-141 radar, because that has radar modes we see on Western jets. (Smaller scan boxes, freely movable scan area & etc) because it feels really difficult to find information regarding them.
actually, it’s not nerfed, at least not nerfed on purpose. It has a good dv, faster than others, and with TVC. To us the TVC, it’s flight control don’t limit it’s G load, so when fired at long range targets, it will move to much, and pull extra aoa, causing energy lose.
mostly has to do with company rivalries between Nexter end Rheinmetall
regarding the 140, that’s pure speculation on my part, but i could see the UK shift toward that solution, seing as there is a joint venture on a similar design (cased telescoped ammunition) on a much smaller gun : CTA 40 (found on Ajax, Warriors or EBRC Jaguar)
the Ascalon 140 is very similar in design to CTA 40, but oversized of course
Seeing as there are only 5 updates per year, I doubt we’ll see a sub tree for the US/USSR this year even if they would do 1 sub tree per update (which I already doubt.
There are just too many better candidates to receive a sub tree.
They will maybe wait till others select one from 130 or 140, then choose theirs. If not, Rheinmetall-BAE Systems Lands exist so high priority seems to be 130, especially considering that even before RBSL exist british factory OEM Rheinmetall’s round.
