5th gen missiles like Meteor have essentially even more range and almost 100% kill chance so we are a bit off getting a new radar missile.
makes sense, would probably not be balanced at least right now… will it ever be though in your opinion? Like do modern aircraft have better ways to counter those?
AIM-9X can come on the AH-1Z first
Modern IR missiles will never be balanced. 25 km kill radius, having extreme manouverability even at their max ranges, being able to pull a 180° and kill aircraft right behind you, LOAL and datalink letting you shoot at targets too far away to be tracked and being completely unflairable as just a few examples. Basically point and click danger sticks which would force everyone to do BVR unless they want to be deleted by an uncounterable missile.
Modern BVR missiles will have enough range to kill anyone from across the map even if they are going cold, aren’t affected by multipathing and are a lot harder to notch / chaff. Everything about these missiles is completely classefied and would be pure guesswork, though as an example Meteor is theorized to have a max range of over 300 km and a ~100km NEZ whilst burning and traveling at it’s max speed the entire way, only gaining energy more energy the closer it gets to you.
EW systems are one way but thats gonna be the main way to defeat them. Right now stuff like IRIS-T is 100% kill rate so far, you can probably trick it into hitting the ground but we’ll need to see how the snail adds them
That depends if gaijin decides that over spaa
Supposedly over a 100% even, as the debris from one cruise missile destroyed by an IRIS-T SLM supposedly destroyed another one, with no missile firing reportedly missing their intended target.
Imo would be cooler than a truck with a big launcher
And it can only carry 2 AIM-9 so not really broken
Sincw theres no official stuff i just went of the brochure lol. I think only some SAM versions have been used in actual combat but dont quote me on that
Id rather see SPAA since we could see a lot more vehicles with em
They could also add spaa ofc but would be nice to get them on AH-1Z too
Maybe at the same time but idk what the snails plans are
Was wondering the same thing.
Like how much “fictional” is allowed when comparing tanks and planes? I know Naval depends but eh
Removing the R2Y2s, but keeping the F-16AJ and Ho-Ri.
Removing the Tiger II 105, Panther II, Coelian, but keeping the Ho 229 (I might be dumb with the Ho 229) and the Ostwind II (yes the guns are on the wrong way but we don’t exclude here :p )
Meanwhile Russia keeping the Yak-141 and half of its Naval fleet
And the US having the Skink, despite having nothing to do with the program/design and not being interested in the program as a whole
I’m not saying Russian Bias either lol.
They’ll have to nerf next gen IR missiles to add them to the game, I believe DCS does the same thing, give them the accurate kinematics but nerf the seeker so it can actually be decoyed.
same for BVR missiles realistic kinematics but keep multipathing and make them reasonably possible to chaff.
At the end of the day it’s the flight performance of these missile that we actually want, so allow the seekers to be adjusted so that the missile can be balanced enough to add to the game
AIM-2000 (early) none datalink
The early 5th gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile lack datalink & LOAL capabilities
Especially 5th gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile from USA & Russia
What is the difference?
TV or IR seeker.
Placeholder the early 5th gen IR Air-to-Air Missile AIM-9X (Blk I) on AH-1Z before AIM-9X-2
But gajin might increase max BR for Air AB, RB & SB mode
But I want another 4th gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile before the early 5th gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile (such as AIM-9X (Blk I) and R-74M)
It’s a good point.
Naval’s rule is more permissive but much more consistent: If a ship was laid down, it’s eligible to be portrayed as it would have been completed.
We have the plans for the Ho-Ri and the vehicle in-game has some pretty ridiculous stats compared to what was even possible at the time. The only things the WT version of the Ho-Ri has in common with the real one are its outward appearance and its gun. Then we have vehicles like the Ho-229 and Coelian which are based on plans, prototypes, and mock-ups much more faithfully. I would classify the Panther II and F-16AJ as one step more “realistic” than the Ho-Ris as the vehicles are based on combinations of real, existing systems that were never actually put together. And then we have the Yak-141 which was a real, functional prototype that in-game is equipped with weapons it was planned to use, but never got the chance to.
So honestly Gaijin’s standards have been all over the place. If anything they’ve gotten more strict with time but it seems like Japan continues to be a blind spot for them lol
AH-1Z only used block 2, tbh since it’s on a heli I don’t think it’s necessary to have a placeholder BLK 1
