Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

More like X-ray of mineshaft :D

I have several reasons

My Main Reason: Swizerland is about the Least Germany Allied nation in europe that couldve been chosen

Additional reasons:

  • an Early Swiss F-18C will be Barely an upgrade to the ICE
  • the Introduction of a Swiss sub tree to germany will Delay the Introduction of a Eurofighter by 1-5 Years

why? the introduction of this aircraft will Mean that there is no more reason to add a Eurofighter to the German, British and Italian trees in at least the next 1.5 Years
if the Swiss Hornets are split in to an Early model with Early AMRAAMs and 9L and a Late one with Later AMRAAM and 9X then together with the introduction of a Late Tornado F3 with C5 AMRAAM and ASRAAM will Result in an Early Eurofighter coming only once it’s no longer Competitive

I predict a Split Hornet will result in a Eurofighter Delay by 3-4 Years, when it couldve just come next year

the Hornet will at best by December no longer be competetive because its capabillities will be countered by for example a better F-15/16/18 in the US tree and Better counterparts in all other trees

starting there people will ask for a Eurofighter but given the you just got a Hornet/Germany has a top tier fighter answer that we got so often

I will create a graphic to explain my Predicted Timeline

Seeing blatant misinfo like that is annoying.
There no reason to post that…
Such misinformation is easily interpreted as hatred of the topic of misinformation.

Your prediction is wrong, and will always be wrong.

tell me why should they add a eurofighter when germany has a Semi competitive Hornet?

Cause it’s finished and ready to add to Italy, Germany, and Britain since it’s copy-paste between them.
It’s an easy addition.
“Why add F-16A ADF when F-16A is already present? Why add 2A6 when we already have 2A5?”

then why not add A Eurofighter in December and keep the Hornet away?

adding a Eurofighter and a Hornet close together is twice the work for the same effect

adding a Hornet for germany only is a Risk thats only worth taking if you dont plan on invisting into germany again in the short to Medium term

You could not have a worse take. Typhoon will probably show up within 1.5 years no matter if the Swiss tree is added or not.

It is possible you are right that this is how it’ll go.

I think though the EF will be competitive when they add it and i don’t think they’l necessarily wait much longer.
Assuming Swiss is coming to Germany than UK/It/Ger all three have their top tier based on subtrees until the EF comes. I’d expect it in a few updates regardles of Swiss coming to Ger.

I think the F/A-18 coming to Ger wpuld be based on it being ready earlier and EF dev work running side by side. Kinda seems like every couple updates they add a new top gen 4 (going into 4.5) airframe. EF is just as much around the corner with or without Swiss.

But like i said, i’m neutral on it. I might be wrong. You might be wrong. We both might be wrong. It’s just a game. Watch your blood pressure.

Add both and GG.

For YOU. That’s not how Gaijin operates, ever.

@Phrogert
Typhoon will likely show up at any time.
All of Typhoon’s equivalents are being added.
F-15C MSIP II, F-18, etc.

u/remindme 1 year

This. Development goes side by side for many vehicles. Every year sees 5, or more, gen 4/4.5 airframes, EF is just around the corner me thinks judging by what is there already. F/A-18 getting added in any form just means the EF is one step closer too.

I think it could show up very soon, but I think more so when the Super Hornet and the F-2 come. I’m only saying this because of the similar release dates technology.

F-2 runs an AESA radar which Gaijin can put off now that F-15JM is in the game [as an under-BR’d jet IMO].
Super Hornet would likely wait for the 2nd iteration of Typhoon added.

People forget that Tranche 1 and 2 are still using “conventional” PD radars.
8 missiles, maybe 10.

Me finding out Rafale is 6 missile limited for a lot of its variants had me confusingly laugh…

@someweirdname
That’s still not how War Thunder development works.

we will get back to this in a year

and I still refuse to belive that a Hornet is coming to germany this update

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
If it really is going to be multiple years like you are concerned about then I wonder what else they’ll add judging by the sheer amount of new top tier iconic airframes they add every cycle.

As far as I can speculate we are missing the Rafale amd the EF for western militaries. So, year tops for the EF to be in is my guess. Probably less.

as it was in the past for the UK/ITA/GER tree they’ll just stay behind the current power

theyll say that Minor nations dont always have a fighter that can be added because they dont build as many, just to then introduce their fighter after its no longer competitive

not everything is about top tier. I am for example happy about the p-16 because it provides germany with a cool and unique cas plane

Perhaps, we’ll see.
If that is their logic then getting so worked up about Ger getting the F/A-18 or not wouldn’t have affected the EF’s chances in the first place.

a Cool and Unique 1950s CAS plane with Unguided Ordenance only and 2 Oerlikon KCA cannons

we’ll see if its comparable to the G.91, AlphaJet, or even only Me262 JaBo
