The Magic 2 is the ultimate kryptonite for the F-14, they don’t even cut burner and than drop like 2 flares.
Many think it’ll pull no better than the AIM-9L/M, only for it to pull 90 degree turns.
It can actually pull 50Gs irl using dual plane maneuvering and keeping itself spinning. It also has both types of IRCCM and its gatewidth it 0.42, not 0.75.
It would be unfortunate if we don’t see this as the game progresses.
I am aware, but even the extra 5Gs it gets in game makes a huge difference. Its range may not be as good, but the extra pull and acceleration make it much better in my opinion.
Except in headons it’s absolutely useless if the player you’re facing has half a brain cell. You can’t wait until it’s super close like the R-73 because of its 1.8 second proxy fuse delay (actually 1.5 seconds irl) so you have to fire it where it is a single flare missile :/
That only matters if the opponent pulls really hard, as there is no need for a proxy fuse if the missile directly hits, as I have seen many times.
Lucky you I guess I’ve stopped even trying unless I know they aren’t looking and won’t flare my missile :(
That’s always been a cunning plan of standalone Italian TT to eventually absorb Germany.
I’ve seen IRIAF F-14s not even try to flare 9Gs and R-60s. A lot of them are just feeding RP, its so nice of them.
Yeah both J10 should get PL-8B.
Sir, my post says not.
The standard J-10 should be as low BR as possible thus should only have standard PL-8s.
The J-10A can get better IR missiles.
You hope J-10 basic mounted PL-8 & PL-8A but without PL-8B ?
Could work with the J10 being 13.3 and the J10A being 13.7. Just like the belgian F-16A and AM that both have IRCCM missiles.
PL-8 standard personally.
With the F-16A MLU as the middle ground between J-10 and J-10A.
I was hoping to use the proxy fuze for meme reasons. Like bomber ai fleets in sim.
Ah well, not the biggest loss.
There’s slight issue with the J10. Some are saying it only had PL-11. If that’s the case then it could struggle at top tier even with PL-8B.
His point is to keep J-10 at a lower BR, since its efficiency will not be too high even with pl8b cuz it can only carry 2+2 IR and SARH
PL12 came out in 2005, so there is no way that J10 basic can carry them. The plane’s first test flight started in 1998 and went into service in 2004.
edit:
Plus, J10A in 2005.
Hey Just like the Swiss stuff Struck one for me
I hope you don’t mind me asking but what is exactly the problem with Swiss coming to Germany?
I’m fairly neutral on it and don’t really care either way. Just trying to figure out what people are getting worked up over.
