Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I meant the regular Etendard. Had it in my had somehow it could fire it but can find no reference of it now.
That clears it up then, just needs a radar lock and only radar equiped aircraft can launch it.

Afaik the Etendard IV can’t use exocet. It don’t have radar nor the Anemone. Only Super Etendard and Super Etendard Modernisé (not ingame but as for the Mirage 2000-5F i’m afraid Gaijin made a mixup of multiple plane variant in one) have that.

Also about exocet:

It is guided by an inertial navigation system for the first part of its flight, to remain more discreet (low alt), and by an active radar seeker with a range of 24 km2 for the second part, during the terminal attack pass.

Yeah I figure the initial radar lock by the carrier inputs the INS/GPS.
I thought maybe there was a way to manually input those for a target. Would be incredibly unwieldy but would eliminate the need for a radar on the carrier.
it was just a thought born out of the wrong idea that the Etendard IV can carry it.

I would be irritated, but there is only one more 13.5" battleship and that is the KGV 1911, they get Marlborough shells and not Orions dogwater shells.

I would just about be able to tolerate that, but also I don’t think KGV 1911 has the same style of deep machinery and internals as Marlborough, which means she will just get nuked like Orion.

Afaik ingame it would act like that: You lock the ship on your radar, you send the exocet, then you focus on other things.

Exocet gonna goes alone toward the ship at low alt, and in the last time it activate it’s own radar (limiting CM against it)

Also somebody put the exocet files in some test, no idea how they are close to ingame stats or even IRL one but give you some visual :

Cool looking at least to see it going in low alt :D

Look at the turn some modernized Exocet can do :3

Never a monday saddly, but perhaps this week with some luck

Correction: the Exocet has been in the game files for almost a year now, it’s not user-made.

I know that what i was saying perhaps baddly.

They used the exocet files from the game i mean ^^

By close to ingame stats it’s more about i have no idea if ingame stat are close or not to IRL ones, and they can also change over time perhaps (balance and all)

we could see it with the introduction of proper ASM in naval for things like the Type 21

Don’t Forget India and Finland lol.

Why do you think Gaijin says India is gonna be a “subtree” for Britain?
It’s still easier for them to add Russian C&P (with a single new radar (example)) than to add actual designs

@Smin1080p_WT When is gaijin going to test queue times for 0.7 max br uptiers?

Before that we would need more “modern” ships at higher BRs

Doubt Gaijin let us use Exocet against 1930s ships xD

±0.7 great ,need this

I think Queen Elizabeth might be a better ship in-game for survivability.

Firstly, their refits didn’t add stupid amounts of armour like the Nagato’s so they could get their best possible AA without being broken, they would all also have access to a minimum of Greenboy shells which beat at least the Bayerns easily, and all the QE’s can use the 6CRH shells which Hood cannot use and yet Hood’s AP is some of the best in-game with 2nd best filler, good penetration and angle of fall.

Secondly they have a slightly thicker belt even when you consider angle of construction its either better or about the same.

Thirdly their ammunition storage appears to all be low in the hull at the bottom of the ship, Mutsu’s frontal ammunition storage is quite low but the rear is relatively high and easier to hit. Whereas this original Drawing of Barham shows that the ammunition storage is all one level, and all below the waterline.

Mutsu’s 25 second reload and very high penetration shells are scary though.

Everyone is food for Scharnhorst.

But even the French ships at 6.7 are relatively disappointing for 6.7 ships, not even hitting 500mm of penetration or having good armour its closer to the original HMS Dreadnought, the first dreadnought ever. Though much better shells and gun placement than Dreadnought.

I don’t see France being truly competitive until Richelieu I’ll be honest. Unless Lyon comes in which case that changes a lot of things.

But Normandie has relatively low armour thickness, and Dunkerque also, I don’t think angling Dunkerque will save her, Strasbourg maybe will be quite good with some decent angling.

Richelieu should be good though if she comes in a Late/Post-war configuration with improved reload rate.
