I doubt that these stats are meant to 100% represent IRL in the beta testing. Once again as I said(a lot of time already) before, the PL-12 - meant to be superior than the AIM-120B-4/5 and on par with the 120C series, is somehow worse than the R-77, being the worst ARH in the playtest.
To my understanding, these statements from China aren’t really reliable since it would require that they have access to AIM-120A/B documents as well as AIM-120C documents. It’s problematic to rely on statements such as that.

They were effectively developed at the same age of the AIM-120C, and I would assume they are at least on par with that.
If the Aussies who saw China as the biggest rival recognizes it, I doubt it would be an untrustworthy claim.
