These ones were specifically designed to force the bosphorous, so it was thought theyd only ever be sailing directly at the enemy.
Also in the late-ironclad/early-predreadnought era it was still expected that the battleship’s primary weapon was the ram in the bow, battle of Lissa style.
This wouldnt change until the HMS Victoria disaster of 1893.

even if you include the F-15 and F/A-18 that were evaluated by WTD61 those were not Fox 3 capable either

Cannon ports? extremely rectangle for windows.
