guys, Tirpitz when? we saw it 2 years ago… and yes, Tirpitz (you can see the Torpedos)

Tirpitz

Gr 5, 7 and 9 are just incremental upgrades, and less so variants. Like Gr1 to Gr 3. But they all did the same role. Air defence was always the FA2s job, Until it was retired. Then it was the F3/Typhoon job

I dont recall. maybe. I know he complained about the lack of radar

DA to NA would also qualify same
NA introduced the FLIR with new HUD which allowed the night operations
My point is, both DA and NA lacked radar and were exclusively used by USMC which did CAS and they had the GAU-12

Might as well get all the bad ideas out of the way sooner then later. 😅

Hmm, probably just RAF/MoD Stupidity.

(would be best to ask in the Harrier II thread, Gunjob might know)

Would have probably been better for the FA2 anyway

forget Bismark that scrap pile didnt even make it through its first journy

Tirpitz is what we need!

He sure was right about this one

Fair point
(Also bit sad that UK Harrier topic is miles ahead in discussion compared to US one… I hope US gets 2nd gen Harrier soon)

Honestly, I hope so too. if our one is anything to go by you’ll like it, and the one in DCS, the Night Attack, is very, very fun.

I hope for the love of anyone’s eyes that she got sunk with minimal loss of life

US get to benefit from all the bug reporting done. You just get a good airframe straight away :D

I just hope we get Flames latest find for the Gr7 (and future Gr5/9). Aim-9s and AGM-65s confirmed to be able to be fitted to the outer pylons. Meaning 6x AGM-65s or 6x Aim-9 should be possible

It eventually led to the Dunkerque and Richelieu, so I can’t complain to much.
Naval doctrine definitely lagged behind everyone else. As France had more of a colonial navy instead of being built for war. Most ships were heavy destroyers and cruisers, but had limited battle cruisers and battleships for that reason.

did he dig up a diagram of which Hardpoints he meant? if so pop it somewhere I can see please ahah

AFAIK, 6x Sidewinder is exclusively a UK 2nd Gen Harrier thing
I think US 2nd Gens didn’t have wiring for Sidewinders on outrigger stations.
I guess the silver lining is better gun
