I know they hate having two versions of the same ship but the 15 inch version of Gneisenau is really the ultimate german battlecruiser.

Unless they want to do O class but im not sure that was ever laid down.

cheers

actually, quickly remind me, what calibre was Mackensen planned to have?

Well, with the removal of Prinz Eugen, I suppose all cards should be on the table for a replacement ship for them.

edit, got Graf Spee and Gneisenau the wrong way round :D

But still, probably could come as a premium

found it:

all Vehicles from the CDK Leak

Im not sure if it was Mackensen or Ersatz Yorck but one of them was gonne get 16.5 inchers

thing is was Gneisenau ever refit to have the 15inch guns?

She was in the process of it (old turrets removed and sent to norway as part of the atlantic wall) but it was never completed.

i doubt it will come then since it was just a refit, im not sure what gaijin stances on refits that never happened

Ik Mackensen was laid down but was Ersatz Yorck?

Id assume theyll be pretty lenient since its naval.

Im doubting many at the moment. But depending on where they stop with naval. I could see them going back and adding refits as folders below the originals

I mean the question I suppose would be “did the barbettes get modified such that they could’ve carried the turrets” before the work on her ceased?

  • since we saw the Gneisenau for a short time a few years ago

I’m going into hibernation, wake me up when there’s a dev blog. Thank you in advance

They probably would need to consider it. They limit themselves heavily otherwise, especially if you’re dealing with one off ships or small classes. Not sure how many instances that that applies to.

Actually i was wrong.

Its the L20e Alpha class that was going to be 16.5 inchers.

I mean you’d have gotten away with telling me that, I know no different. Sounds a weird calibre though… not round numbers 😭
