on the way to look for a solution to help out germanys dying air tree a bit there were 2 main options before argentinian F-16 was a thing.
The dutch F-16 or a switz F/A 18. Of course this options got fought by everyone at every corner.
Either by the ones wanting to have a Benelux standalone tree. The ones wanting a switzstandalone tree. Or the french being against switzerland, because this means germany gets french vehicles.
Now the implementation of Benelux does 2 things, nr 1 the hope for stand alone nation is gone. Benelux would have been a better standalone tree then switzerland, so there is no argument why switzerland should be a standalone nation when benelux isnt. When there are plenty better standalone nation currently available: Korea, Poland, Yugoslavia.
Secondly it leads to french getting a LOT of german stuff, many different leopards and other stuff, meaning the french cant complain anymore either if german ends up getting a mirage or other small french vehicles

i mean, they didnt care about the T-90S coutcry or the switz hunter one. Why should they care about this one?
I think everyone agrees on that.
But we have to wait and see. BeNeLux is probably going to be a sub-TT for France (which absolutly doesn’t make sence, since France still has LOTS and LOTS of stuff that they could get from their own).
And @gszabi99 said this list is just the TIP of the iceberg.
So perhaps it still is going to be standalone, or something different will be done with BeNeLux.
One of the reasons i think this is because France her ground TT is already 5 lines wide, and BeNeLux has to many different unique vehicles (in all aspects of the game).

my argument vs the swiss F18s was purely because the same german players were telling british players to shut about asking for a gripen or a CF18 and just sit and wait for the EFT (mind you the british tree was in far worse state for top tier then germany was)

believe me when i say, most uk players prefer it being premium and them not needing to touch it
Except none of these were ever promised, so I don’t know where the first bit comes from.
Besides that, Germany gets a lot of US and Russian vehicles, yet the US and USSR barely have any germen vehicles.

That would be true to war thunder. They added many vehicles to those nations only in the past without anyone else having a peer.
I find it funny that the argument for the uk not getting canada would make their top tier to strong, meanwhile france having leclers an abrambs and a 2A6s if they do get them as a sub tree

to be fair, the same thing fits to UK, they wouldnt have needed a sub tree either, at least the SA sub tree was done well. which sadly i will doubt will happen for the benelux one

dont know who that was, but that wasnt the german playerbase, we sat in the same boat with only f4f ice available. many of us agreed with the assesment that uk needed sth for air

This honestly makes me worried. Like if the list is the majority of the update it’ll be a pretty meh update for ground.
