I don’t think the gap in popularity and money earnings between Germany and France can ever be completely closed.
Taking away the gap in player counts that happened over the years, Germany just has too many iconic vehicles that the casual people see in documentaries and want to play.
The two pictures of the french and german tech tree from the wiki rank5+ you sent. The german tech tree has 25 and france 29 considering only tech tree vehicles and no premium.
britain has more MBTs then germany yet not a single one is meta compared to germany clearly all that matters is number of tanks right?
France would make them more money if they made the tech tree itself more interesting to play through. That’s a big part of the problem.

Yes, but still less than nations like Germany and not even close to the big ones like Russia and the US.
but adding more doesn’t help britain either. A challenger armor rework is needed and that doesn’t take up people who modell vehicles that would just need a few number changes for the armor.
So a focus on britain doesn’t help at all if the challengers are shit in general

I’m not questioning that, people have been brainwashed by Hollywood and only have eyes for the same nations we always see, I’m not questioning that.
But Gaijin didn’t do a very good job of making it interesting either.
A very difficult Rank I, a lack of premium in the top tier, no squadron, vehicles that over the years have had BR and repair prices that completely demotivate average players, average bad choice of premium…
Nothing have been really done for making it appealing to the mass of players, then you have Sweden coming out of nowhere, a country that is low behind in military capability, and suddently they got all the love the devs can do, interesting premium, cool stock camo, subTT and squadron before older nations, everything to make the TT more appealing… Aaaand curiously they have more players than all the other minors nation.
you know how we fix that? giving us a variant that is actually better and not a side grade because of artificial nerfs (removing the spall liner it almost defiantly has and massively increasing the reload for no reason)
or better yet if they just want to add copy paste why not a sub tree that actually contributes to top tier and not one that just ends at 10.0
