The thing i found sad is when subTT become an excuse to give a c&p developed from another main nation already ingame, specially when its one of the “iconic big toy” this other nation developed.
If it was a top plane that we don’t have ingame, no problem.
But now we have F-16s everywhere, some F-15 and Mig everywhere, and now 3 nations have a Swedish Gripen when those nation themself have no link with that (outside the subTT, but thats an ingame reason, not an IRL one).
This lost more and more the “historical” war the game wanted to give long time ago.
It is what it is, but nations losing originality and things that make them different from other is just sad to me.
Tho its either “You are the best” or “You are far from being the best”, you can’t really evolve overnight over what america researched since 1960, so for china and russia its not about beating america, is just about keeping other poorer countries under their wing
No its not comparable tho they have actual electronics that can be compared with modern one, but you’re doubting the capability and researched technologies of nato that kept evolving since WW2, but russia and china had many crisis since then that were a mortal blow to their already inferior equipment
Moderna,T-72M4CZ or Twardy are way more unique than 2A6NL or the resold Canadian F-5s. So is L-39/L-29 or L-159 trainer/light attack aircraft. In the air tree the Visegrad would also be much more unique. Tank wise the Benelux is just US and later German tech. Meanwhile Visegrad have many domestic developed vehicles like OT-64, ShKh vz.77 DANA and so on.
I’m not so much concerned about its systems, but about how it will fare against stealth aircraft. I doubt the Rafale will have a competitive RCS. Having a missile with long range is near meaningless if the respective radars are having difficulties finding their target to begin with.
J20 is stealthier than the Su-57 but slightly less so than the F-35. This will likely be meaningless in game since I have a suspicion all stealth fighters will use a same or similar RCS for balance.
I mean the X vehicles everywhere would happen anyways.
As we move away from WW2 more and more nations would lose most of their domestic military-industrial complex. So they buy large chucks elsewhere we only one or two domestic par upgrades.
moving away from WW2 had led into your sub-tree problems. but the only solution would be lots of trees and not leaving WW2.
As “collection nations” would be as bad if not worse then sub-trees with C&P.
All of that sounds about right. Don’t forget about jamming tho. Rafale might have better jamming than the J20 so if it gets locked by an unkown source and then maneuvers to jam they might still get into a short range fight.
Yeah decent, not necessarily good or great. Even one step behind might still mean lose 9 out of 10 engagements in an environment of better equipment that gets used well.
Despite the fact that you’re comparing a region of 4 countries to 2 smaller countries with half the population, you’re also comparing unique stuff from the Visegrad countries (even if some would not consider the T-72M4CZ to be unique) with the ““copy-paste”” from the Benelux, i could also compare the Benelux’s Cobra 90, YPR-765 and Fokker G.1 to the Visegrad’s T-55s and MiG-15s, but that would be bad faith wouldn’t it?
Dont get me wrong, stealth really only means reduced detection range, as all stealth aircraft will eventually succumb to a radar’s “burn-through” sector. But it also means that stealth will have the initial advantage in firing their missiles. And don’t worry, this is speculative more than wishlisting, as this was stemming from France possibly getting a stealth fighter from a Subtree nation. There haven’t been any reliable rumors to when we’ll see the first stealth aircraft sadly, but we aren’t that far away.
It depends on how Gaijin will model jamming and interference. There are a lot of complex features to consider that haven’t been modeled or tested by the public. Since we’re talking about the Rafale, do you think a version will be here by this end of year?
You definitely can do that. There are indeed also unique Visegrad T-55s or MiGs, we already have one of the unique MiGs in German tree as Lim-5P. The unique T-55 is also again present in Soviet tree, with wrong flag. Cause T-55AM1 is Czechoslovakian modification using domestically developed Kladivo FCS aswell as LWS installed on rear of the turret, which again it is missing currently in the game.
Both have unique stuff, but simply Visegrad would have much more unique stuff over Benelux.
As for the T-72M4CZ why would anyone not consider it unique, it is even more unique than Moderna, it have new engine from Challenger 2, new transmission so it actually reverses, TURMS FCS so it have thermals, LWS, softkill APS and domestically developed round that performs better than 3BM60 while not being DU. Hull is also different as parts of it were cut and redesigned.
