I haven’t seen that he deleted it, however even if he did, it doesn’t mean much, since it can be interpreted as him saying something about future plans that he wasn’t meant to, not that it was untrue.
I mean given Thailand is a new and only other nation that has been added to Japan so far.
I would assume he could be looking at old information as the F-5 was a las min thing
It is. Nobody will have say no about add a British modified Type59 or a American Type59 Jaguar.
And I think this is absolutely a bad idea. I will explain this in below.
No, Commonwealth is a real and existing relationship. But Japan and other Asian country not. The only relationship is the enslavement during WW II. Something like adding Israel to German.
Thai and Japan is something like Italy and Hungary, are allies in WW II. From this aspect, add Thai is the most suitable to add.
For Thai’s Chinese vehicles, is hard to judge. If Thai added as sub TT, it’s reasonable to add. But not fit political correctness, and Gaijin always handles political things carefully.
Anyway, it’s just 2 vehicles, add them or not won’t be a very big problem.
I definitely think a full sub-tree is limiting and copy/paste and as such we really don’t need a full one. Just vehicles here and there to fill any gaps in capabilities or unique ones that offer something interesting that you couldn’t justify with its own tree.
He isn’t dev, just a moderator.
Yes, and I always think part of Finland and Hungary sub TT is really bad idea. Something like “we made a TT with all good stuff in other TTs, lack personality but strong, come and play it, better buy some premium”
I mean this only works if the Indian T-90 wasn’t a thing.
Russian tank India brought and Britain got no connection to it.
India is part of Commonwealth. an indirect connection, and this is enough in this situation.
That’s what I mean.
Thai’s Chinese vehicles is similar situation, but there are other things, political and historical things, prevent to do so.
They want people start to play underdog nations with as low effort put into them as possible. Well I’m ok with C&P, but when it’s only C&P and nothing ingenious, something goes wrong.
For Italy it’s very sensible since getting a new model made specifically for this nation is like some very rare event, AMX is basically considered a miracle.
I would better wait longer and get smth more interested, while it would be also better to gather all this Hungarian line into one instead of scattering across not connected Italian lines and choose some of vehicles less necessary for TT to be premium (Yak-9P, MiG-17PF, MiG-21MF or others).
PS I feel myself like a guilty now, since I was the one who proposed Hungarian-Romanian subtree, though I was hoping for more effort put into it, instead of just entire copypasting.
Yes, that’s what I think, C&P when needed. Used C&P Inordinately is harmful.
Israel subTT when? Turkey would be a great candidate.
The argument falls pretty flat when you consider that China gets access to American vehicles through Taiwan despite not having the best relationships.
The same should be possible for Japan through Thailand
The ARH event planes can currently be selected in the Mission Editor as wingmates or opponents; it appears they changed MICA EM to use it 's own visual model now even though the test event has closed.
I am still confused why the addition of Thailand as a sub tech tree for Japan is this controversial. Historically wise, Thailand was an ally to Japan during the second world war, utilizing and using many Japanese, from ground to air, and most importantly, naval. Politically wise, Thailand seems to have quite a positive relation with Japan, and the addition of F-5 FCU seemed to satisfy and make quite a positive reaction from Thais, especially on social media like Facebook, so far as I’ve seen.
Furthermore, the passed-to-developers Thai Tech tree proposal seems to exclude Chinese vehicles to avoid upsetting the chinese player base. As a Thai myself, I would really welcome the additional of Thailand as the sub tech tree for Japan
Make bug report
India is non-aligned, and any military alliance with Great Britain is entirely imagined. That would be like Japan getting Korean vehicles (or Chinese) because they conquered them during WW2.
The decision to add Indian vehicles was because of the need to “improve the gameplay experience for Great Britain”. Not because of the “commonwealth connection”.
Gaijin’s standard of connection changes. Being a part of Commonwealth is a quite strong one. Swiss Hunter is an example. I don’t know any other connection but Swiss and German all speak German language.
Switzerland has historically been a neutral country. There is no German commonwealth.
There are no political connections in the game. The Bhishma was added to improve UK gameplay.
If the VT-4 improves Japanese gameplay, and developers want it to be in the tree, it will be added as a Thai vehicle.
It is what it is, and trust me, I don’t like the fact that the Bhishma is in the British tree. But you learn to get over it.
Seems I didn’t explain clearly enough. From improve game play aspect, I’m ok with things like Bhishma and Hunter, or other necessary addition or C&P.
There is. Making sub trees or add non technically connected things from other countries needs some connection between countries.
Chinese and other Asian vehicles is another problem. It’s not about the game, but an international social problem.
Why do people hate the Swiss Hunter? It’s possibly the best fighter Germany has at rank VI and a very useful addition to the tree. The only good reason too be salty is probably the fact that it’s the best Hunter in game, but I digress.
