Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

They are still Ukrainian products and uniquely produced by them.

Your bait comment was completely unwarranted.

Same round used on the M1 AIM

I don’t think it’s a bait comment at all, I mean it’s not a stretch to see how these are tanks based on USSR technology. Obviously they are unique variants produced by Ukraine, just as the PT-91 Twardy is a unique polish vehicle, but they are still derivatives/evolutions of Soviet vehicles and technology. It shouldn’t be controversial to make that observation

Except the fact that this guy does it all the time

I definitely agree. Given how many modern Eastern European designs haven’t been added yet, it seems like Gajjin is trying not to add them to the USSR tree, which makes since both to avoid controversy, and to not overfill the tech tree with redundant vehicles.

While it may seems a little out of place, Japan on the other hand could definitely make of these vehicles, and would add another pull to the tech tree, as these are still somewhat unique vehicles, with good competitive traits

Being derived from something and being said product something is derived from are completely different things.

Regardless, they aren’t Soviet vehicles anymore even if based on Soviet tech.
It’s like calling Saturn V a German product because of it’s largely German derived knowledge (yes I understand the differences, but you get my point).

And as mentioned, this guy has often been unfairly critical towards Ukrainian production.

Hey i just noticed something funny… there are two types of F16C available in Testflight for the AI. And one of them can carry the Aim120A. So the Amraam is on the live server xD

Do the bots use them? They can use R60s now, was surprised to see them actually fire recently.

they fired it yes but as far as i´ve seen the Amraam´s haven´t hit anything… most of the AI F16C crashed anyway

god imagine them accidentally being used in a regular mission before AMRAAM gets into player’s hands

I’m wondering right. Gaijin said they will be implementing more Hungarian planes in the future. But they never said that those planes would be unique to Hungary and not Soviet.
Also, what would the changes be that unique Hungarian build planes will be in the TT and not be added as a premium or as event vehicles?

Same can be said about Thailand to Japan, right?

I believe so, while the Thailand tech tree might look a little bit C&P, as I stated before, many of the inner components are different than the original ones, ex. M60A3 TIFCS or F-5TH. Moreover, as the time progresses, I do believe that they might add more unique vehicles, not only from Thailand, but from other SEA nations which are willing to share their vehicles with War Thunder, such as Singaporean A-4SU Super Skyhawk and so on.

War Thunder is a popular game and, if the stars align, its popularity might allow Gaijin to collaborate with the governments that seek to exercise their soft power through video game industry, allowing for more unique vehicles to be implemented.

That would be the best way to showcase just how disgusting 30g+ ARH are for the game.

AI can fly, use radar and fire missiles in NEZ.

For me, when I think of Thai event vehicles, I think of the vehicles that were tested in Thailand, such as TH-301, SK-105 Kürassier, Leopard 1, and maybe AMX-30, all of which were tested in Thailand before losing to Stingray light tank.

in case someone wants to know… i just checked and its the case for all test aircraft and missles from the fox3 test… so the R-Darter, R77 and PL12 are also present for AI in testflight
