Id say its a modern day “interdictor” akin to that of the Tornado and F-111. Just relies on alternative methods for penatrating air defences. Instead ultra low alt, it uses stealth
Gunna be intersting to see how the Americans react to a wall of ASRAAMs coming at them from the RAF Typhoons, well beyond the ranges of their Aim-9X and then when they do get in range, dealing with IRIS-T from German and Italian Tpyphoons
Then a Python-5 comes out of nowhere and pulls a 360 degree turn from an F-16I or F-15I, just to top it off.

Y’all do know we are not all like that, some of us do understand that other countries have technology that is either on par or better than what we have.
That is the minority in my experience.
Like I’ve met more than a handful of Yanks who call my nation’s vehicles one of their designs. Along with other extreme clams.

Plus unlike the Starfighter this one is essentially a slightly better performing Stealth F-16, which is more than good enough for what it needs to do.

the USAF blamed the plane 3 years after it was introduced and promptly removed it from service
the Luftwaffe KNEW about it’s problems before they bought it and still did it, killing 116 pilots
it has a very bad reputation because there was a political scandal behind it and on paper it’s numbers make it look really bad

To be fair they wanted a strike fighter from the start, but were pressured into buying the Starfighter regardless.
Japan also originally wanted the F-11 (G.98J) over the Starfighter. I’m sure there are others too, the way the Starfighter was sold just a big bunch of bribes by Lockheed.
it was sold as the ultimate solution when in reality it was a horrible idea and the Kommando Luftwaffe knew about it
Wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s outright bad. It’s a very good supersonic interceptor. The issue was about how it was sold, especially to nations like West Germany wanting something completely different, but the Starfighter wasn’t a bad aircraft fot its intended role.
