Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Long range as in long range for small maps, not long range for real life.

True, but still.

I think there is a big fear that you will just be able to spam off 8 at 15 ish kms and get 8 potential kills

I think they’ll be fairly easy to defeat (both IRL and by gaijin design) and probably going to have some limitations to spamming them off.

Will be interesting to see what they do. But even in SB, im not expecting them to be overly “OP”

I will show you something scary then wargamer

meh

Lets be fair the kurnass is op for 135 points but it was dlc so
Yeah also im probably not using this loadout for GRB

Nuance that goes entirely missed, lol. Agreed.

Pieced together a few quote pieces… Su-27K/Su-33 is heavier due to navalization. Canards help, but they mostly are there to help produce additional lift on takeoff from the carrier. Also, Su-33 apparently has modernized AL-31F’s that the 27K didn’t have, and I believe the fly-by-wire computer that the Su-35 had, so the canards may be useful. It doesn’t have TVC, but it may be more competitive than you think. Personally, I think the 33 is better off as an event or squadron vehicle as it has a limited A2G/ASW load out.

Su-30M however lacks canards, lacks Su-35 length vert. stabs, and no TVC. It has a reshaped LERX, but it still has the standard AL-31F’s. It has a full complement of late 90’s early 2000’s A2G weaponry, and still has the radar upgrade needed to launch R-77’s. Su-30M is the next best Flanker in my opinion.

I meant to say R-73R which I believe now is an erroneous designation. I can’t recall now what the variant is, but there was an R-73 with an extended body for a longer burn time, I believe this would be just one way to compensate for lack of super-maneuverability, given that the MiG-29 is basically done and the Su-35, 27SM3, 30SM, 30SM2 are all a ways away by your standards on TVC (I don’t have a strong opinion on when to add TVC for the Flankers).

The other way to do this would be to add the R-73M with either the standard M-80 seeker, or M-80M which is a dual color-band seeker and would be much more immune to IRCM. Given the R-73’s IRCCM was never properly modelled, perhaps one just leaves it as is and the R-73M becomes the next big IR missile for the USSR/Ru.

An unsupported ARH is barely more likely to hit a target than a SARH. If you launch and then immediately turn away the opponent literally only has to crank to the other side and your missile will sail into space

i believe their is a prototype mig29 or mig35 with tvc

I know there was an intention, not sure if it was ever built.

Honestly at this point I expect they will simply add JA37Di with AIM-120B

It’s not the worst option, and it would at the very least satisfy both the people that want the JA37D to stay as it is and those that want it to get RB99s.

We might also get the Viggen D with IRST/FLIR and Meteors in the future )))))

I hope not.

Why not? Would be fun as event vehicle

As funny as that would be i think there is limits to what should and shouldnt be done

But can you imagine how silly would that be to fire Meteors from the Viggen against things like EFTs, Rafales and F-15EX?

Because it would be insanely hard to balance. Also, no. The best version of a vehicle should never be outside the tech tree.

it would, untill you get curve stomped by them after you run out of missiles

I mean it was a single plane so having that in the tt would be kinda off

I know, and, once again, the best version of a vehicle should never be outside the tech tree.
