AMRAAMS coming in onenor two updates and will be on 4th gens as the gripen c which would be identical to the gripen a would have no reason to come if it didn’t have AMRAAMS and since Sweden won’t be the only one American and Russia will get their equivalent 4th gen arh plane which plane they will get is unknown
Germany and Britain have no 4th gen with AMRAAMS that can be added other then the EFT which has been denied
Yes Britain has the gripen but the chances of it getting AMRAAMS is very low due to it being our only 12.0+ aircraft giving it AMRAAMS would increase its br leaving us a gap in our tree again
So the only 4th gen that makes sense for both to get at the same time as it would be easier is a f/a18
Britain getting a Indian aircraft like the Tejas with in two updates is very unlikely as yeah they can give it r77 as the Indians have used that missile so it only ever had AESA radar which the reason the F2 isn’t in game and japan got a fake f16
With all the info we have if gajin where to give us an AMRAAM 4th gen stop gap before the EFT the CF18 would be the most likely

I mean it’s not guarranted to be 1:1 capable since newer radar and engine are possible but without better IR missiles it would be functionally the same.
Swedish Gripen C is 100% going to get AMRAAM, would make the most sense. We’ll just have to wait and see if that is March or not. Other differences are minor, though there are some that they might be withholding from the SAAF Gripen C specifically to keep the A and C almost identical (like cockpit, radar, centre line weapons, etc)
- Once again, something making sense is not the same as it being confirmed, and 2. the CF-18 has not even so much as been mentioned, and thus there is no reason to believe that it is coming.

I mean yeah without AIM-120s, even with these 2 upgrades I mentioned it won’t make a single difference in its playstyle in both air and ground battles. Unless they give it IRIS-T for whatever reason.

The only thing that could be new on the Gripen C is AMRAAMS which are coming in the time frame
It like 99% their like gajin would have to just add them the SAAF gripento the Swedish tree and repaint like what would the point of the A be their no way the C for Sweden doesn’t come with AMRAAMS

That I seriosuly doubt. They’ve backed themselves into a really really messy corner. An earlier Gripen A sometime last year, even in September and Gripen C as we have now in December would have been so much cleaner.
What else does the Gripen C have, any interesting A2G weapons they could add?
