For the BP, we have no idea. For the update, we know that the JAS39C is coming for Sweden, and that there’s a 50% chance that ARH missiles will come.
So far as I understand, JAS39A → JAS39C provides identical performance, airframe wise and munitions wise, all except for AIM-120, right? They both have HMD, same CM load, same airframe (minus the refueling kit), same radar.
So that pretty much confirms it by deduction right?

Not that I know of, however my point still stands. Until we have direct confirmation, we don’t know, and knowing Gaijin, they may just give it better Mavericks or something like that.

I know a little about some Russian missles, and next to nothing about the AIM-120’S. if all this is true then maybe we’ll jump straight to a C model, although we might also consider how many Fox-3’s some planes can carry as a balancing factor. The J-8F for example, can only carry 2 PL-12’s and while that would help make it more competitive, it still far from turning into a Fox-3 slinging monster. Meanwhile a lot of American and Soviet jets can definitely carry more than two FOX-3’s. The SMT for an example should be able to carry 6 if it wanted to.
Their would be nothing new to add other then 120s or IRIS-T and we know which one is more likely
Considering the fact that the IRIS-T is one of the best IR guided missiles in the world, I very much doubt we’ll see it any time soon.
Yeah i doubt it too but thats one of the only two things that could be new with the Gripen C
I’ve spent a lot of time looking into the R-27EA, and the problem I come across is that it’s very hard to prove if it was ever made ore not, and it doesn’t seem to ever of been used in service if it was.
So far as I understand, C model is for air to air refueling. Beyond that, it has:
The same radar
HUD
HMD
IR missiles
Countermeasures
Performance
Engine
Airframe
Fuel load
With the only difference being AIM120
I’m not expecting it until we see things like the JAS39E and Typhoon Tranche 2.
If we got given a Eurofighter I would die happy lol

The C is a bit heavily but it negligible
As I have said many, many times now, the DA.1, 2, and 3 can be added right now with AIM-9M/Li’s and be balanced with the Gripens. They’d have more missiles, but worse flight performance due to having the Tornado’s engines.
